      Rod,

Thanks for the reply. Thats too bad to hear the AS products did not wear very well. Thats surprising, ive used their leathers when i was roadracing motorcycles and had nothing but a great experience with their products. Perhaps the karting products are not made to the same standards.

I think ill look into another brand with a better reputation.

      Thanks for the information!

Well folks, ive got the price down on the Jr. Engine to a point i could probably be into a fresh Sr. Engine for a coupls hundred bucks less than what i could just purchase a decent Rotax sealed engine with papers. Im just not thinking the deal is good enough and could be problematic down the road. Ive learned before that most of the time you get what you pay for, i think im better off holding out for a decent engine package without all the guesswork.

      Thanks for all your help!

What does it cost to freshen the top end and re-seal one of these engines if it was purchased with a broken manufacturer seal?

      Thanks for all the help!

Is this engine still available and does it come complete with all components such as exhaust, wiring harness, radiator, hoses, etc?

Thanks for passing that along. Ive noticed these parts get listed and move pretty quick, are they fairly common? If i could get a complete SR. cylinder at this price i might be able to get the JR. engine switched over for a reasonable amount of money.

Thanks for the reply. Its sounding like i will have quite a bit of money into this engine. Im not sure it will be worth it. It would be different if it came with the senior cylinder.

      Thanks for the help!

Thanks for all the replies and ideas, this was really helpful. I appreciate the pics too, pretty slick set up on the back of the Honda.

Im not due for another vehicle for a couple years, my next ride will be more trailer or cargo friendly.

Thanks for all the advice, much appreciated!

Thank you guys for all the advice. In the big scheme of things I probably cant go wrong with either chassis. I suppose its what ever i get used to driving and turning laps on.

I find myself leaning more towards the Kosmic, just becsuse thats what my local shop deals with on a more regular basis.

Thanks again! I appreciates everyones input.

      Tim,

Thank you for the reply.  The shop that has the 2 chassis I’m interested in does not routinely stock the Haase chassis but happens to have this barely used Mistral available at the moment.   They are primarily an OTK dealer but I have a good feeling they would stand by and help support the Haase if I need help or parts.  They just might take other processes to get parts if I need them or don’t have a part specific to the Vase.  I don’t have a problem buying the Haase just because the Kosmic is more popular.  I’m just wondering if either one might have an advantge over the other. Just like anything I’m sure they both have their positives and negatives.  Possibly one or the other might suit a taller driver better than the other?

I’ve decided to buy local and support my local shop for the obvious reasons.  They will be more likely to provide some track support knowing I purchased from them.  Honestly I’m glad I found them and made a trip to visit with them.  There are some nice looking new and used packages accross the country online but nothing beats buying local and having the knowledge they can provide.

With me behind the wheel I’m not sure either one would be better than the other or I would notice any difference in performance.  I guess thats what I’m looking to figure out from those who have competed with both.

Its tough for a new person getting into this hobby / sport to decipher all the information and opinions and separate the good information from the bad.

      Thanks for the help!
