And also Racingmom, after my motor was claimed in Phoenix, I found who claimed it and I went to that person and shook their hand and said, no hard feelings, its the rules and I have no problem with him claiming it.  Guess I’m a poor sport.

The west coast has never been that strong for Rotax.  But you look at the east coast and the biggest series in the US, the FWT.  In 2012 there were 58 minimax drivers, in 2013 there there were 48, in 2014 there were 50.  In 2015 when they went to the 1010 chassi, there were 27!!  This year there were even less, the final found this year had 16.  When you talk to the drivers in 2015 who normally would have moved up to minimax, most of them stayed in micromax another year because of the 1010 chassi rule.  Then they all just left and went and raced mini rok and mini swift.  Hmmm.  I admit Rotax has other problems, but the 1010 rule and the weight of 290 did not help.

Before the slide limiter was mandatory, I was running a 115 to a 118 in Phoenix and was getting good power, more than I can get with the limiter installed, I was limiting the throttle a certain amount but no where near as much as the slide limiter is limiting it now.  With the slide limiter we are getting much less air in the motor thus the reason for dropping down to a 105 to 110 jet range.

Also, I know some will ask, why am I just not running the stock new EVO i bought?  The answer is, I have not had time to test it, the motor is still sitting in the box,  I will eventually get around to doing back to back testing with my evo upgraded motor vs. my new evo motor.

Ok, we just returned from Can-Am round 1 in Tri-Cities Washington and I was running my old motor with a newer lettered cylinder I was able to buy used off this website forum, as I had a 2010 cylinder on Diego’s old motor, with the EVO upgrade kit parts, stock pipe from Rotax.   The big news is, Rotax now has a new throttle slide limiter just like the old brass one for the cap, only its a little shorter than the old one so you cannot use the old one.  The new slide limiters are going to be mandatory so I expect Rotax will be sending them out soon or have them available soon.  I was running a 110 all weekend pin 2, I heard some were running as low as a 105, so somewhere in that range.

I see where people are using jets smaller than a 100, specifically for micromax.  You cannot do that for any class, you have to use only the jets available from Rotax or you will get a DQ.  The smallest jet they have available in their kits is a 100, and its available in kit number 281 477.  You can also only use jets that are in their size range.   In that jet kit, the jets are 100, 102, 105, 108, 110, and 112.  If you buy a 104 from Delorto and use it in your carb, you will get a DQ if they tech you.

For micromax, you are not limited anymore to the supplied jet kit of 115, 118, 120 etc., you can use rotax jets from their next kit down, which starts at a 100.  You cannot use any jets that are not in the rotax jet sizes though so don’t go buy a 94 from delorto and use it, you will get a DQ.  I ordered two of the smaller jet kits from rotax last week and already got them.

If they can’t afford to pay 800 bucks, they certainly can’t afford to lawyer up and start suing.  Have you ever actually done that?  Its very expensive to hire an attorney and go to court, people always threaten to sue but very rarely does it happen because of this.  Not many attorneys are willing to take cases they don’t have a very good chance of winning and if a guy owes you money and you want to sue him because he called you out on a forum, the first question the attorney is going to ask you is, do you owe him the money?    I have been hearing a lot of this lately though in karting, people not paying their bills, sucks.  I could name two people who I know who owe others big money.
