I see some changes in the future of US karting with this.  Probably a more structured racing series featuring the x30 engine to compete with the rotax race series, with the help of Skusa.  The availability of various tag packages has been dwindling over the years and here’s another indication. X30 or Rotax race series.

Maybe the 2016 CIK engine structure will shake things up in a few years as well. KF is changing back to a more simple package. Back to direct drive and minus the starter. But could be even a few years beyond then for anything to catch on here if at all.

It’s going to be a great weekend. We have our largest turn out yet and looks like the weather will be clearing up!

I have set up 2 2010  EVRRs with World Formulas on them. We used Burris 5 degree mounts on both. One EVRR was a 100cc chassis, that one we had to modify the mount a little bit to get it further over away from the seat strut. Im not sure if there is more clearance with the LO206. The 125cc EVRR we did not have to modify the mount.

When it comes to Tony Kart I was told by factory tuners to not under any circumstance bend or move the seat strut on the engine side.  It is in a specific location.  The seat strut on the opposite side can however be moved.

We first tried a 15 degree mount but seemed like the seat strut bolt got more in the way of the clutch and chain guard. With a 5 degree, it sat just bellow the bolt. But like I said this is a world formula, so a little bit different.

I’m 6’3″ 210lbs. In 17 years of karting I’ve never had to use a front porch on a kart and I use a size large Tillett or #3 European seat.  When I weighed 250lbs I sat in a XL Tillett.  I also use a riptech vest so I’m pretty snug in a seat.  I don’t think you’d have any problem being in a standard kart with an XL seat. I’ve used riptech seats before but didn’t like them because I like to be able to move my body weight around if I need to, and it effected the handling of my chassis, but that’s my preference.

FAA gave us a little grief last year but everything has worked out.  We’re looking forward to another solid season next year. Syd was always so willing to help others and pass on his vast knowledge of briggs and stratton motors. If you can make it out we look forward to seeing you!

Who imports the MG tires? Do they have their own warehouse here that distributes? Is it Skusa? I’m curious.

Word is that there are limited rain tires and I see many not participating in practice. Anyone have any insight?

Has the track layout been announced? I’m assuming it’s the same as last year.

I can’t come and race this year since I’m going to the supernats but I really hope you are able to do this next year again so I can race. At Monterey Bay Karters we usually have 10-20 world formula karts and a few are IKF experts. Always intense racing.  Hopefully some of our other members can make it down. You guys should come up in Feb. for the Sid White Memorial endurance race.

I’ve been involved in karting for 16 years and I’m finally going as a spectator this year. So excited to see such an amazing race I’ve listened to over the years here on ekn. Maybe next year I’ll race!
