Omar CalixtroParticipant
No need to respond this I am going to buy a new starter since the one I had was old.
Omar CalixtroParticipantThanks everyone for helping me out. I emailed my tech director and weight lifting weights are allowed. I also have ordered the weights and will be adding them soon.
Omar CalixtroParticipant
Someone above mentioned 5/8″ bolts. Don’t use 5/8″. I think they meant 5/16″ or 8mm. More smaller weights seems to allow the seat to flex more.
Alright thanksOmar CalixtroParticipant
I’m about the same weight as you. Is it possible to use a weight in between the seat and the frame? Like a spacer?
What do you mean?Omar CalixtroParticipantAlso can weight lifting weights be used just as long as I paint them white and make a new hole that is 5/8 of an inch?
Omar CalixtroParticipant
Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger! When that doesn’t work, bolt lead weights to the seat of the kart. You can buy them from kart shops. They’re available from 2 to 8 pounds. If you know of a local plumbing supply near you, they should have 5 pound lead bricks. You’ll have to drill them for a 5/8’s bolt and either double nut them or drill the bolt for a cotter key. On the 8 lb weights, you’ll probably be required to use two bolts. Most track I know of require the weights to be painted white. You can move the weights up or down the seat for to help in chassis tuning.
I found some lead bricks that go up to 26lbs it is 2″ x 4″ x 8″ is there anyway something that large can be illegal?
Omar CalixtroParticipantOkay thank you. I think I will give him a call soon to make sure he can fix it.
Omar CalixtroParticipantAlso I think he just wanted to know the crankcase type. And I found the crankcase type its a permanent mould.
Omar CalixtroParticipantWhere should I take it? I was thinking comet kart sales could replace it.
Omar CalixtroParticipantThank you everyone. I finally got my starter nut off. The crankshaft thread was in really bad condition. And I imagine that the the starter nut couldn’t get off because off how messed up the thread was. Now I just need to send my engine somewhere to get my new crankshaft installed.
Omar CalixtroParticipantI think one problem might be that the thread on the crankshaft is messed up. But what I think I am going to do is go to comet or send my engine and get the pto shaft replaced.
Omar CalixtroParticipantThank you patrick I will take a look at the fuel tank vent later.
Omar CalixtroParticipantAlso I am using the inbuilt fuel pump on the walbro wb3a.
Omar CalixtroParticipantI also noticed just now when I tried to start it again that the fuel had trouble getting up to where the fuel going in the carb. The fuel had problems going up once I stopped choking the engine
Omar CalixtroParticipantTony, nothing else was done besides installing the clutch. I could check the carb. But I doubt thats the problem because if I choke the engine fuel does pump.
Omar CalixtroParticipantI haven’t tried going full throttle. I say I go about medium throttle. Should I give full throttle or very little throttle?
Omar CalixtroParticipantThe clutch and the axle spin just fine.
Omar CalixtroParticipantOk it’s just that I am new to karting.
Omar CalixtroParticipantElectric impact? Would it be cheaper to just buy a new direct drive clutch?
Omar CalixtroParticipantThe kart has a centrifugal clutch for now. I plan on replacing it later in the future.
Omar CalixtroParticipantThank you very much Jason really helped it’s just that google can’t find the clubs and only finds the rentals.
