It was asked if electrical was available??

YES.  There are several in the lower pit area and some up top down behind the south restrooms. FYI, the spots down on the lower are taken.  Each box has 30, 50 and 110 amp plug-ins. Fee is $30.00 per day. Someone from the track will come by and collect and turn the power on starting thursday nite.

    Is there fuel available??

YES. I do need to check it FIRST as there is one that DOES NOT pass tech.

    Answer to Sam Jordan question:

If you are running either the YAMAHA PIPE HEAVY or the SPRINT TAG SR. CLASSES on Friday, you may practice starting after lunch (12:00) without paying the Friday practice fee as this would be included in your entry fee. If you run these classes and choose to practice in the morning, you will need to register and pay for the paid practice.

Thanks Linda and to everyone else who attended.

I had to scramble for help on Thursday as I lost both my kart pickup and a couple of corner workers due to them going into the hospital on Wednesday but all worked out.

Had a good turnout and of course, SUPER racing. Who would ever think that September at Afton it would be 95+ degrees!!!!!

It was nice to see the regulars along with the NEW racers. Sounds like everyone had a great time.

See everyone October 4-6 at HPT for the 2013 KART/MARRS – RUSSELL KARTING SPECIALTIES Road Race Nationals.  “THE MAN”  hopes to return to DRIVING at this event (Bad news for the others)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Let the BS begin!!!!

    Juan,

Sorry to hear you will be overseas at the time of this event, enjoy your trip.  Look at the bright side , you would have been racing for 3rd anyway (just kiddn) as both kids are coming out of TAG racing retirement and are running the tag classes along with there laydowns at this event (killing me!!!).

    Animal drivers beware!!!!!

MT POCKETS RACING will be bringing 5 animal karts & drivers to HPT. You had better be out front on the last lap as the MT POCKETS drivers will be 5 wide from the last corner to the finish line so there will be no room for passing (of course, THE MAN will be taking the WIN!!!). LMAO!!!!  I just hope to finish 1 – 30 minute race in 2013!!!!

Brad, Lindsay and Shannon will be doing the pre -tech along with both Roger & Ted looking at some different things. I have asked everyone to look at the usual stuff and at bumpers, nerf bars, etc since come 2014 there will be new rules on these items.

It has been asked if I would mine having a Unlimited local option class on Saturday, answer is YES there will be one. It will probably be put in with race 5 but I will wait until the event to see who/how many show before putting it with a race on Saturday.

Finished getting class sponsors for this event.  I would like to THANK ALL those (27) sponsors who sponsored a class for this event. With out them, makes it tough to promote a event like this one.  Event information should be posted on the KART web site real soon.

ROADRACERS, start planning (if not already) on attending this event as you will regret not attending.   Great track, great people, TOUGH competition, PLENTY of track time and great food/beverages/entertainment on Saturday night!!!!

    Chris,

How do we send PM’s on this new site???

YES, the traditional BBQ and BEVERAGES will be there on Saturday evening. Maybe since it is going to be nice, we can ask a certain person to give us some live entertainment after the awards ceremony while we finish off the BEVERAGES!!!

Mark or anyone else needing rules, call me at 316-218-3645.

    John,

I don’t believe Linda is saying that  it is a bad thing. Getting people (veteran/new) to roadrace, benifits everyone in roadracing. People who race VERY LITTLE (1-2 races a year possibly) need to understand that those who have a series such as we do under KART/MARRS which has a 7-8 race series is that even though we all believe racing at COTA would be a once in a life time experience, if we as racers  where there are SEVERAL races at the present time  decide to not support those events and support this event, then there  is a GREAT chance of loosing some races(tracks) or even the series in there area they race in.  Then what do ROADRACERS do??

As I posted earlier, I will do what I can as for scheduling around this date (if it goes off) but, our series comes first.  This comes from someone who travels to other parts of the country to race but supports his own series FIRST.

I hope this race can happen as I want to see how many of those who say YES, will actually show as some who have posted here also said they were going to HPT in 2011 and didn’t show.

    Alan,

“RULES ARE FOR SPEC CLASSES” ??  Am I missing something here??   ALL classes have some sort of rules rather it’s just bore/stroke for engines.

Looking at something like 125cc and down.  We want it to be something more then bragging rights, they are paying a entry fee.  We are playing with fatest lap time including counting first lap (of each class) and then, split the starts. May not happen but just wanted to ask those who do promote this class on how they did it.

3 karts ready (rental, Lindsay, Jim’s #2 animal), 2 to go (Brad’s, Jim’s #1 animal). Of course it helped having to do minor changes to Lindsay’s and the rental animal(GEAR) .
