Jimmy McNeilParticipant
I have some front end parts for that chassis if your interested in some back up stuff. Spindles, wheels, hubs etc. Ill sell it all cheap. All my chassis have front brakes so the stuff is just sitting in my shop.

Jimmy McNeilParticipantThere’s a difference between 20′ and adjusted 20′
My home track is close to sea level, but the adjusted altitude will get as high as 3500′ and will also be in the negatives in the winter.
If your at adjusted 20′, that’s good air. I would run a minimum 180 main on a practice day, prob a 185 (that’s with a 99 cylinder).
Jimmy McNeilParticipantHi ron, I was thinking $150 for it all
you pay shipping .
sound fair?
Jimmy McNeilParticipant“Temp 80 degrees humidity 65%.”
Do you have a weather station? It could be 80 degrees at sea level or 80 degrees at 6000 feet, makes a huge difference in jetting.
The Swedetechs usually run a bit richer, especially with the GFS.

i was just pointing out that even thoe their was some greedy people there, their was also some drivers and teams bending over backwards to try and help out their fellow racer.
It was tough week fore sure.
November 26, 2013 at 5:53 pm in reply to: Shameful price gouging by big shops at the Supernationals #16631Jimmy McNeilParticipantTom said in the drivers meeting, their was rain in the forecast, 35 drivers pre-ordered rain tires.
should skusa bring 1300 rain tires to the event? What if it didn’t rain, he would be stuck with them.
I Understand both sides of the argument, but the bottom line is its the drivers responsibility to have rains.
And on the flip side of what howie said, I know for a fact that two people in CRG USA gave their slightly used tires away for free so other drivers could race. I’m sure many others were doing the same.
Jimmy McNeilParticipantPaul, up till a couple years ago they had a open class, it was called G1. You could run a high comp, electronic ignition, 50hp moto engine. People didn’t support it and it went away.
If you opened up the rules for the upcoming supernats, not a single person would run a lay down seat. If someone showed up with one, they would be in the back.
Jimmy McNeilParticipantPaul, if your theory was accurate, when it rains, people would lower their seats for additional grip. It’s just the opposite. When it rains, people raise their seats for a higher center of gravity. This does two thing, on corner entry it transferes weight to the outside front, lifting the inside rear allowing the chassis to rotate. It also transferes weight to the outside tires through the corner for additional grip/speed.
Hope I’m explaining this ok.
When your over stuck, lower the seat to take out grip
Jimmy McNeilParticipant“The lay down seat should in all sprint karting classes be faster”
Its just the opposite. Go to a road race and watch the laydown karts crawl through the corners compared to the “sit up high” drivers.
“I shouldn’t have to explain but because you do not have a differential you “MUST” unload or slip the inside rear.”
“And it is fact the same grip distributed across two rear tires will go around the track more efficiently or ‘freer’, then with increased unloading of the inside tire and more use of the outside tire.”
You kind of answered your own question. You are correct, you must unload/slip the inside rear tire. If you ran a laydown style seat that increased the weight on the inside rear, the kart wouldn’t rotate as well. Plus, with the laydown seat you would decrease the weight transferred to the outside tires through the corner resulting in less grip/slower corner speed.
Jimmy McNeilParticipantSorry Mark, bearings are sold.
Jimmy McNeilParticipantI seen a guy on a motorcycle win a race, stop after the start finish line to do a burn out, a guy hits him from behind and was killed.
Jimmy McNeilParticipantI hear ya.
Man it’s tuff posting with my phone.
Jimmy McNeilParticipantAce, if it says 08 on the chassis Id plate, it could still be a 06 or 07.
Its the homologation period wich I think is three years.
Forinstance, i think my 2012 chassis says 2014 On the chassis Id plate.
ive probably owned 9 or 10 2008 road rebels, all have had four bolt cassette and ven05 brakes
Jimmy McNeilParticipantYes the 08’s are four bolt
Ace, does that chassis have ven05 brakes?
Jimmy McNeilParticipantTheirs a race at cal speed on the 27th, I hear theirs going to be some heavy hitters there.
Would be a great race to check out.
Jimmy McNeilParticipantThanks for the reply, to bad the 08 doesn’t have a shifter mount, I’d be all over it. The 08 was a good year.
Im assuming its a 30mm chassis. If it’s a 32mm I may still be interested.
sorry, not interested in the older one.
Jimmy McNeilParticipantWe just go down to Lowes. I think its 15 by 20′ blue or gray indoor outdoor carpet for 50 or 60 bucks. Cheap enough that when it starts looking bad you just throw it in the trash and get a new piece.
Jimmy McNeilParticipantwasnt thrilled with the plate but its better than nothing. from what I heard at the track last weekend, all pipes are going to have plates welded on them from the factory. Don’t know for sure if that’s true, but that’s the story floating around the pits.
Btw, this new site hates my iPhone :(
Jimmy McNeilParticipantContact the company you bought the pipe from They can tell where to ship the pipe to have it repaired. We had one break, shipped it in and they welded a steel plate over the crack.
Jimmy McNeilParticipantStrange, the shark shifter mount looks identical to swedetechs mount.
Wonder which mount came out first.
Jimmy McNeilParticipantLmao, that’s exactly what I was thinking.
