This race would be a testament that Red Bull still has the best chassis.

Juan David GomezParticipantI was planning to make the trip to hallett this year but unfortunately my job still has me traveling. I hope everyone has a great time.
Juan David GomezParticipantA little on-board action from the Tag Senior Final:
Started at the Back due to an engine change after crank bearing failure during morning warm-up.
ran on the dry set up since I barely had time to change the engine and put on the rains.
Climbed all the way up to 4th place but for the many spins an 360 finished 6th. had a lot of fun though. :)
Juan David GomezParticipantThey are at it again. really annoying. kind of makes me miss the old forum.
Juan David GomezParticipantThe Cruiser is an all 30mm so it would work well for Tag already. just do the changes that you have mentioned and you should be good to go. although you could simply disconnect the front brakes when running tag in order to adhere to the rules. there is no need to get new spindles unless you are worried about the extra weight.

The best thing is to hit one of your local tracks on a race day and talk to people. Not familiar with the ones around the Denver area but I’m sure someone else can help you on that front. It will be hard this time of year though as the season is pretty much over. Still try to contact someone here who lives close or a local shop.
TAG is a goof place to start for someone with your experience and it will give you the most speed without going into a shifter for which the learning curve would be quite steep. They have plenty of power to make your drive more technical and at the same time teach you the fundamentals.
As far as Chassis everyone has diferent preferences but most would be good choices. The general consensus is to get something you can get support from a local shop or someone. You can usually get a good used package for 2k to 3k.
Hopefully I answered some of your questions. let me know if you come up with more.

Juan David GomezParticipantThe HF trailer is great and no modification is required. The rear wheels just hang out a bit but it is fine. been using it for 3+ years folds and stores against a wall. and there is plenty of space for kart and Stand. get the 20% off coupon and it cost $240+tax
here are also some good ideas

Juan David GomezParticipantI think the better question is what kind of “old” spare engine is Valdis getting?
If it is also a key start then both will work fine like Jim explained.
But if it is an analog box you need to swap the stator for one or the other depending what systems you will use.
here is what you need to convert a push button to a keystart:

If it is an older push button leopard this tread explains the modification needed that I was talking about. the newer push button models accept the keystart stator already:

Juan David GomezParticipantConfirmed today:
JPM to IndyCar with Penske. Really exited to see what he can do.
Juan David GomezParticipantYes, but I think a little modification is needed.
I’ve used an 09 with the old box and I just had to put the old Selettra Ignition (Stater) I think if you put the 09 Stater on the 08 you need to grind a tap in order for it to fit. I am talking about old one with the starter box. you can also get the old one with the keystart ignition. not sure if modification is needed for that one.
Jim Russell should be able to give you more details. also check the old forum archive.
