jack lachutParticipant

leading edge motorsports
eshifterkart.com
sharkshifter.com
don’t know what parts you need and for what year/ model
jack lachutParticipantbrad, I have a new aluminum mount for sale. it fits 32mm x 92mm frames.
$100
jack lachutParticipantSebastian, I have a used streeter similar to that, don’t know if it will work for the new large style plastic bumpers. $75
I’m in socal.
jack lachutParticipantdevin, starter available?, price ?
thanks
jack lachutParticipantscott, for mini swift parts go to cometkartsales.com.
look under engines and parts, then 2 cycle engine parts, then iame mini swift parts, then mini swift clutch parts. the nut should be #124 and retail is $9.52.
everything is categorized by category of engine breakdown.
hope this helps for future reference.
jack lachutParticipantscott, I’m not familiar with the mini swift, but I believe that most of the motors built by “iame” are the outer nut loosens “ccw” while the larger inner nut loosens in the “cw” rotation.
ccw = counter clockwise
cw= clockwise
hope that helps.
jack lachutParticipantgary, that’s quite a drive to go out there twice only to find the gates locked.
I don’t see the website anymore.
jack lachutParticipantBenjamin, do a web search and look under Honda cr125 rebuild guide or
http://www.metal -matrix.com/cr125rebuild
good info on disassembly and reassembly with pictures.
jack lachutParticipantHowie, I think I have a pair of black 130mm direct spindle mount wheels, these are the ones with the bearings installed in the wheels. the only thing is I had a bad bead lock screw hole on one wheel so I used jb weld to install and hold them in (3 places) and then ground them flush on the inside and sealed over the with some more jb weld. this was done on one wheel only and as I remember it didn’t leak. let me know if you maybe interested. $60 for the pair shipped. I’m in socal area.
jack lachutParticipantpaul, most standard #219 chain lengths are 114 links, although it depends where you want the engine positioned on the rails and what combination of front driver 10t or 11t and the rear gear. you can purchase a standard 114 link and try it on your kart, if you think it’s too long you can remove a link or two with a chain breaker. I’ve used 110, 112, 114 links before.
jack lachutParticipantgary, I had a problem with my first used kart years ago (top kart) 30mm mains, 32mm crossrails as I had the floor tray tabs breaking often. I also had a small crack on the outer rail near the motor area. I had the crack fixed as I first drilled 2 very small holes on each end of the crack, then prepped the crack by slightly beveling along the crack ,then welded the area ground it smooth and then made a small gusset 1″ -1.5″ long x 3/4″wide and contoured it to the frame and welded it to the tube overlapping the crack and I never had any issues with it again.
my 2006 “krt” chassis I bought new and have countless laps on it and it has never broken anywhere and is still fast.
check out the new display chassis featured in the business/ retail section from ok1 and praga .
jack lachutParticipantmark, check out the one on margay’s website under misc bodywork components.
sku#59304 which is also a weld on kit.
jack lachutParticipantken, after seeing your video I’m glad to hear you were not seriously injured. I want to ask if the other 2 racers got into each other and you had no where to go??
jack lachutParticipantjack lachutParticipanttim, I had the same question as tom , does the chassis have to be level on the stand? I’ve asked people at the track and they said no, that it didn’t need to be level on the stand to do the alignment. when I do my alignments at home I always level the kart before starting the alignment. I’m using the sniper v2 inox setup. if I were to lean on the kart that would upset the laser on the grids.
thanks
jack lachutParticipantrod, if you are using spray cans, remember to stay away from the harsh chemicals like brake clean when wiping your freshly painted chassis. wd-40 seems to be ok though.
in the custom auto paint world there was a color called tangello orange that had pearl in it.
the cost of auto paint including the hardener would probably cost more than just having it powdercoated.
good luck!
jack lachutParticipantrod, I’ve used chevy orange engine enamel for touch-ups from the local auto parts store.
are you looking to repaint the whole chassis?
the older intrepid frames looked like they had some pearl in the paint.
jack lachutParticipanthave you checked the reeds?
how is your air bleed screw set on the carb?
jack lachutParticipanttom, the tracks in socal area would be
calspeed karting in Fontana – los angeles karting club
adams motorsports track in riverside
grange racetrack in apple valley
apex karting in perris
f100 karters race series.
check out there website as they have schedules for race and practice days.
July 10, 2014 at 6:30 pm in reply to: WTB: Stock Honda Shifter – SoCal – Found one! Thanks EKN! #30088jack lachutParticipantAndrew, have you checked out rick zimbelman’s kart here on ekn. it’s a 2006 intrepid with a stock Honda. located in orange ca, near angels stadium. I’ve driven it and it’s fast and handles very well.
jack lachutParticipantpeter, I’m assuming you are using kart for recreational purposes. I run maxima 927 castor based oil on my kart at 24:1 ratio. that’s 6oz of oil per gallon of fuel. I use vp ms98 min or Sunoco 110 and never had a problem with wear on piston or cylinder. don’t know what carb your using or your main, pilot jet settings are? my cylinder is a 99.
jack lachutParticipantjoe, I believe that margay was the importer for sniper products, you may want to contact them. if I remember the snipers were made in austrailia and they would have to ship them there.
jack lachutParticipantrod, i believe i have a used caliper/ bracket that i bought for a spare but never used it.
i could not tell you if the seals would still be good.
i can send some pics if you want, need your email.
$100 shipped
thanks
