What would be the rating i need to look for on the helmet? is there a number or rating number that i need to look for?

Yes defiantly  a great helmet and i am planning to still use it . karting has always been a very expensive sport and cant effort a new hamlet at the moment ,getting back into the sport now after 14 year break .

Can you power wash the kart and dry it quick ? or this a bad idea?

will the water effect all the bearing on the kart?
