First off, where are you racing?
Yes, different rear sprockets will be a need for setup changes. The great thing about the ignite, not much else you will have to change. Here are tips for the Briggs engine. http://www.briggsracing.com/sites/default/files/16commonmistakes.pdf

David ColeKeymasterIt will be interesting to see how many clubs in the midwest combine both engines.
David ColeKeymasterAre you talking from the race track?
David ColeKeymasterThe broken links just need to replace the ‘ekartingnews.com’ with ‘eknclassic.com’ for the links to work
David ColeKeymasterWorking on it. Thanks.
David ColeKeymasterYes. We are working to get all the functions back to 100%. Please be patient.
David ColeKeymasterHi Skip, we are doing some updates to the site so we have had some issues in recent days. You should be able to post to the forums without any issues right now. Please email us at webmaster@ekartingnews.com if you are having issues. Thank you.

David ColeKeymasterThere are nearly 150 posts made in the last month, which has seen the site go through a number of hiccups. We continue to fix the errors that hit our site as we try to get it running at 100%. Please be patient. Some things can’t happen with the click of a button. Thanks.

David ColeKeymasterHere is the article for those who want to read it

David ColeKeymasterExactly Ian. $150 a day to race at one of the world’s most iconic circuits. Even if it’s just to say you’ve done it, that’s super cheap!
David ColeKeymasterLooking at the parts description on Comet Kart Sales, it’s the same clutch and clutch drum as the X30.

David ColeKeymasterI don’t have hard data, but it seems the KA100 is very reliable. TJ Koyen may be a good person to ask, or any one of the drivers from the USPKS program that raced in 2017 as to how much maintenance was required to keep it at top performance.
David ColeKeymasterThanks Tony.
David ColeKeymasterwhat caamera did you use and what mount? The picture was super clear and no bouncing around.
David ColeKeymasterHi Tom,
I wrote a column last year about the KA100 and compared it to the KT100.
https://new.ekartingnews.com/2017/01/23/iame-ka100-the-future-for-grassroots-2-cycle-karting/
I think there is room for both engines in the industry after a year of watching the KA100. The KA100 could be the national level type engine, with the Yamaha geared toward more of the grassroots level of the sport.
David ColeKeymasterPlease only use one thread instead of multiple threads. Thank you.
David ColeKeymasterWelcome Anthony.
The nearest major tracks to you are: Atlanta Motorsports Park and NOLA Motorsports Park. There are probably more dirt oval tracks in your area and maybe some smaller clubs as well.
David ColeKeymasterHi Paul,
Please contact us at webmaster@ekartingnews.com Thanks.
David ColeKeymaster2-disk was designed for the lower horsepower Yamaha Can. The Yamaha Pipe has more horsepower, obviously. My guess as to why they run the 2-disc is because it is more readily available, or they use it when switching to Can. I would contact your engine builder to get their advice. My guess is horsepower related.
David ColeKeymasterI was under the impression that 3-disc provided better performance, and maybe more longevity for the clutch.
David ColeKeymasterLow numbers. One driver competed in all five events on the season in Briggs 206 Senior in 2017. KA100 replaced it for 2018.
206 has shown not to be a national class, which is fine. We at EKN have promoted it as a Regional/Club engine package. WKA should do the same.
David ColeKeymasterHi Rob,
Your in Austin, so I would head over to Speedsportz Race Park to see it first hand and learn more. Another Houston area shop is 3G Kart Racing in Katy and the Gulf Coast Kartways track. Those are great places to start. Also, the Circuit of the Americas just opened up a rental kart track. Go check them all out.
