Craig DrabikParticipant
Try moving some weight forward. Bolt some lead to the steering support in the front and see if it helps your condition. With the seat in the stock position I’ve always found my 4S needs 5 lbs on the nose to handle well. Otherwise I’m running a similar setup to yours, but with a world formula. On new Burris 55s I’d have been around 54″ on the rear and narrow on the front, 5mm to 10mm of spacer.
Craig DrabikParticipantI’d really love to see it get wider attention as well. The only thing I can think of is that it’s nearly non-existent at the regional and national levels and racers would prefer to run something they can compete at that level with. It’s a shame too, it’s a great package.

Craig DrabikParticipantWe run them in the Batavia Kart Club, which runs at Avon, Cherry Valley, Pitt, and Bliss International. I’m pretty sure there’s no WF class at OVRP. I’m not sure about further east than that. We actually run them side by side with Yamaha 4-hole can at the same weight.
Craig DrabikParticipant+1 to KMFDM, plus Frontline Assembly and Fear Factory for me.
Craig DrabikParticipantThey are actually 6″ wide not 6.5″. These would be for a junior driver. https://id3528.securedata.net/test.burrisracing.com/merchantmanager/product_info.php?cPath=1_12_14&products_id=166
Craig DrabikParticipantPrice lowered: $1650 shipped. Make an offer if interested.
Craig DrabikParticipantSomeone pointed out that the clutch is the old style clutch. It is in fact the old style clutch. The engine does have the new gears. It has the sticker on the engine and the work was noted in the passport. I have uploaded photos of the passport to the flickr set at the URL above. I have also corrected the original posting.

Craig DrabikParticipantCraig DrabikParticipantI did the two day program at Jim Hall and it was the best money I ever spent on karting.
Craig DrabikParticipantWell what you’re talking about is the decision path that led me to the F150 I got. I really wanted a smaller truck, but the beds were only long enough in the Tacoma, Frontier, etc with small cabs. I have a big dog, so that was out. Even in the full-size trucks if you went with the full four door (Super Crew in Ford speak) then you needed a long bed. I had the smaller suicide doors (SuperCab) and everything fit in there just fine, including the dog :)
Craig DrabikParticipantI haven’t driven a semi, sorry. I do however live in an urban area and if you think a foot and a half makes no difference to how easy it is to park your truck in the city then.. well.. I guess you must be a lot better at it than I am. All I’m saying is, it’s big, and inconvenient, and for me that inconvenience was not worth the extra capacity. Which I didn’t actually need to get the kart, stands and spares in the bed. I’ve since gotten rid of the F150 for a smaller SUV and trailer because I didn’t like driving it in the city. It’s easier to live with for the other 350 days a year that I’m not racing.
Sorry I tried to offer some advice. I’ll make sure I don’t do it again. I’d hate to get my other hand bitten off.
Craig DrabikParticipantI used a 2010 F150 6 1/2 foot bed for two years. It was great. I only got rid of it because I moved into the city and mileage and parking became a serious pain. For my personal opinion, the 8 foot beds are monstrous, can’t imagine trying to park that or maneuver in your average parking ramp.
Craig DrabikParticipantMXK Racing still makes fun karts of all kinds, as well as a racing chassis. I’ve got no experience with any of their stuff recently, but I did work a summer there in high school.
Craig DrabikParticipantCheck your clutch. Take the drum off and clean it out and make sure the springs aren’t broken.
