uuuuhhh, nice warranty work….NOT!
andy grahamParticipantsome 80s are sleepers…on the right track, a bad ass 80 can beat a stock 125….I have a superdyne 80cc. I’ve enver seen the build or dyno sheet, but Pete tells me his notes have my motor dumping 30-31hp on his dyno…fun as shit to drive, not as scary like a KZ or CR. I’m keeping mine around for my son who’s almost eleven, I plan to introduce him to shifting with the 80 and then move to an S5 stock moto in due time.
andy grahamParticipantin stock form on the sea doo they were black bodied carbs, the buckshots and the red tops were silver bodied like in your pic…I was thinking more about this yesterday — we never used the carb mounted fuel pump, they make (made) a block off plate to remove the pump and allowed you to run the big mikuni external pump…and I forgot all about the guys who were considered “The Best” when it came to pwc carbs — Novi. Buckshot got fancy and made manifolds, big (50mm) billet bodied carbs, linkage etc….Novi stuck to carbs and man were they awesome. Easy to tune. Pretty sure Buckshot is gone or has moved on…last I heard he was building dune buggies in SOCAL, but even that was a long time ago…the guy in FL making red tops has been gone for a long time also, I think the name of his company was True Cad Designs…they’re out there somewhere, hope this is at least a little helpful….good luck.
andy grahamParticipantthose SBN38’s were stock on the Sea Doo 785 engine back in the 90’s…there were a couple of companies that were known for modding those carbs to get some serious results…I remember Buckshot was kinda like the Swedetech of jetski racing when it came to carbs, and there was a company in FL called Red Top that changed the fuel distribution from a nozzle/sprayer to an angular distribution…I ran both set ups, I had better luck with the buckshots than the red tops, and I think they started as 38s and then had a bigger venturi pressed in as the mod….I bet if you search ebay for “sea doo xp carb” you’ll find plenty…there was also a place in Miami called PPG (Perry Performance Group) that did their own mod on the stock carbs on the 785s with good results….just food for thought
andy grahamParticipantunclear at the moment just what “open shifter” means, I’m sure the details will come out soon. As far as I know, FWT uses SKUSA rules for their shifter classes. Its all about weight to power relationship.
andy grahamParticipantJust an observation — I’ve sent several PMs thru the new site, and havent gotten any responses…strange, I always got a response when using the old site, even the courtesy “its sold”. Just thought I’d pass that along, dont know if its a glitch or not.
andy grahamParticipantany more rotax stuff?
andy grahamParticipantdellorto fuel pump….check out Musgrave’s site
andy grahamParticipantJordan – check your PMs, I sent you one a few days ago about this. Havent heard back, had another guy trying to sell stuff on here say his PMs were not getting out to those he was sending…could be a site problem…send me payment instructions, I’ll take it.
andy grahamParticipantgot a response
andy grahamParticipantAnyone get a response?
andy grahamParticipanti want the dd2 cylinder…DIBS!!!
send a pm with payment details
andy grahamParticipantoh well, it was fun talking about it for the past month or so….
andy grahamParticipantpm sent
andy grahamParticipantcall your local DEP or EPA office and ask about putting down an <span class=”st”>impenetrable surface and see what they tell you….I think you’ll change your mind pretty quick…before you ever think about laying asphalt you’d have to have an engineer design a drainage and retention system for you, someone to certify that there are no wetlands on the property, any trees removed or any native species that have to be relocated would have to be “mitigated”, God only knows what that would cost. The idea of building new is so scary, I have a friend that’s been trying to open his MX track for nearly two years…he’s by the book, and he’s still trying to get approved and legal so he can open for business….he’s still not open, and it’s a dirt bike track.
