    Thanks Glen!

I didn’t see it on TS. That would have been too easy since I live about 30 min from them.

I did see the same tank on the Margay site!

    Thanks again! This forum rocks!

    Andy you are correct!

It was explained to me the same way!

To add, and simplify, they told me to think of a funnel as a main jet. Pouring a thicker solution  (exaggerating but say like honey versus water) thru it will pass thru slower than a thinner solution, hence more oil will cause a leaner condition!

If I recall correctly, Jason at Swedetech has always told me to use VP ms-98 and never run pump gas of any kind, racing or not,  AND  to always mix the fuel at 6 ozs to 1 gal.

I found that gearing plays a big part in how the Honda performs. You want to keep it on the pipe as much as you can and if you lug it a lot, it will give you a rich condition. I think I’m jetteat with a 76 main jet now with clip in the middle. Have to check my notes for the pilot. I’m in central Fl.

It’s obvious you guys are missing THE question!

As seen in the picture, I HAVE moved the axle up  AND  down .

I know what it’s supposed to do both ways!

What I’m asking is, is the total adjustment ONLY  a 1/4 inch (if that) up and down?  OR is there a set of another group of holes that I’m not seeing?

Its a fairly simple question! It’s yes or no and the holes I’m using is ALL the adjustment there is, period!

Here is a picture showing the mounting holes with very little adjustment! Is this all there is in adjusting up or down?

Joe I know that moving axle up or down makes a change but my question is, is ALL the adjustment JUST in that 1/4 inch either way? Seems it would be more. The guide says try different holes but looking at mine, by using different holes, the cassettes won’t fit the hither holes, so I’m stuck using just the holes I’ve been!

What I’ve always done is use a K & N after its been oiled and then wrap it with horse wrap that acts as a pre filter! You will be surprised as how little your filter gets dirty!

horse wrap found in many colors at any tack shop and it sticks to itself with no tape!

My buddy received the estimate today and it needs a CDI, a coil and a stator which they said it was

Fried! Add on two hours labor and the bill is almost $800.00.

they advised not having it done because there could be more wrong inside that they haven’t checkered  because they weren’t told to do so.

now the plan my buddy has is to get his money back and return the motor to the seller because he he said it was freshly rebuilt by OGP!

My friend took his kart and motor to the guys at OGP and they told him that it had the wrong CDI and coil on it!

Apparentlty somebody changed the CDI to maybe gain rpm and ultimately ruined the coil which had been replaced twice prior!

Hopefully after they install the correct parts, my friend will have a good runner!

thanks for your help and comments!

Larry would you consider shipping it to Florida if the price of the lift is appealing?

Not sure whether it matters or not but I disagree about not including the Orlando track. Although the owner is hard to get along with at times it is still a great track and there are some great shifter kart racers there.

As far as going to And out of town Race during the months of December or maybe even January I don’t think I could make those.

    Again these are my opinions

Personally I think a series is and was a great idea but I thought it started out being for the working class racer. The ones that build and maintain their own equipment. The ones that are not track sponsored! I also thought from the beginning that this class was going to be holding races on their OWN track day where racers show up in the morning, practice, then race a series of races thru out the day and go home the same day. What has happened from what I see is that it has gone from THAT idea to running mega rules at tracks that ALREADY have a race schedule with a shifter class already in place.

What has been gained? Why try to re-invent what is already in place? If what your looking for is to race against racers of your caliper, then my suggestion is to pick ONE centrally located track, dhow up with whatever it is you have and IF enough masters, geezers, whatever you want to call it, show up, then run it! Once the class structure is built, move it around to various tracks! I’m sure A track will welcome a fun bunch of shifters in their own class but it has to formed SOMEPLACE FIRST before scheduling a series of races across the state! I don’t think anyone will travel not knowing what lies ahead!

I plan on racing my first race Sept 7th at OGP whether I win, break, or finish last because I want to have fun and I need to start someplace and that’s as good a place as any!

After chatting with Jorge at OGP a while back, he seemed dedicated into bringing shifter karts and stock moto back into the loop. He was going to invest mega bucks from Swedetech and after chatting with Jason at Swedetech during an phone order, he confirmed the story! OGP has a local club series and shifters of all kinds are welcome. They run together and scored seperately which makes it pretty equal!

Im going to start running there as much as work, money and time  permits! They give awesome awards from what I’ve seen in the past series!
