I have been using a Tillett rib vest for years now, also racing 125 shifters. Have  had no rib problems since I started using  it. Highly recommended.

Ribtec is good. Still needs improvement though. Havent used a freem, no comment there.

After injuring my ribs 4 times in the past year, I’ve got both vests. FreeM I like more because it has more coverage but it’s thicker and doesn’t fit into my seat as well. I’ve been using the Ribtect 3 with my own extra padding added inside the vest.

I have cracked my right side ribs and bruised/separated my left side ribs several times over the past year. Biggest thing that has helped so far is a better seat. Without a DeepSeat-style seat, I wouldn’t have been driving for the past several months.
