When I buy a used carb, or need to rebuild a really old dirty carb I like to start with an overnight soak in a carb cleaner like Gunk’s can of cleaner.

Use no sealants, just the gaskets in the kit.

Brian, the guides were great since I found 2 mistakes on the gaskets of the old one. Glad I didn’t just “do it the same way as I found”. Was much easier than I expected.
