      IMO – If fluid dynamists can keep an F1 car on the ground, I’ll have to say that fluid dynamics is a valid science. If your 150 jet is smaller than you 152, and your 152 is smaller than your 155, and so-on and so-on, then I believe that you’re OK. Your 150 jet may not be the same as the next guy’s, but who cares. You tune your engine with your jets and get predictable results replacing one jet with another. Go with the flow.

      And who’s checking to be sure all the pin gauges are the same and accurate?

      That was my thought, go with the flow…bad pun. Just wanted to be sure I wasn’t off base for not drinking the kool-aid.

      The reason we use pin gauges is because the jets as marked are pretty far off. A jet marked 158 can be larger then one marked 160 for example. So say you are running a 160 jet, you read your plug/exhaust and decide to go a little leaner. So you throw in a 158 and it is actually larger. The pin gauges eliminate that. I size all my jets and pay no attention to what is marked on them.

      That’s my confusion/concern/question…Two jets even pinned at 1.60 could have different flow rates, right? Venturi can change the velocity drastically. But, with that said, not having a way to accurately flow test, pinning may be the best approach since the venturi on the jets should be extremely close between runs???
