Best advice: Keep it on the track.

I run some aluminum axle collars snugged up on the frame and lock-tited. You may have to notch the floor plan if you want to put them in the waist of the kart, but they are a heck of a lot cheaper than the frame protector kits you can buy. If they start to wear down too far, throw them away and get some new ones.

I purchased the Tony Kart kerb riders and fit them to my CRG. Just had a drill a couple new holes on the plastic protector to match the holes in my floor pan. The overall shape does not match my Road Rebel frame perfectly, but it’s not bad.  A friend recently installed the Kartlift frame protectors on his new DR kart, they look great.

I have some stainless steel  skid plates from PKT…so far so good!
