Does using a chain that has been stretched to far effect performance.  I have a chain gauge that tells you that your chain is stretched, but, I don’t see how it can reduce performance, as long as it staying on the engine.  Any theory’s

My understanding is that a worn chain will wear out your gears and sprockets to make it match the stretched chain. (they will look like waves instead of inverted Vs. Then when you put a new chain on, that chain will skip and not fit, and it will mess up that chain, and might cause it to fall off or break.
