eKartingNews.com is proud to present our Preview Series for the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals 27. Leading up to the on-track action of the 2024 edition of the marquee SKUSA event, EKN will preview each of the nine categories that will compete on the temporary circuit located outside the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas from November 13-17.

Trackside coverage is set to begin on Tuesday, November 12 as the EKN crew sets up our SuperNationals 27 home, roaming the LVMS grounds with Paddock Insider and social media content. Coverage continues into Wednesday as karts hit the track for the first time. EKN Live begins on Thursday, November 14 as qualifying is conducted for both the morning classes and the afternoon divisions. Listen LIVE to the heat races throughout Friday, November 15 and into Situation Saturday, November 16, including the five Last Chance Qualifiers held on the day. That sets everything up for SuperSunday, with the main events for SuperNationals 27 audio streamed live on eKartingNews.com/live and eKartingNews.com/radio.

Pro X30

20 years of the headline single-speed category at the SKUSA SuperNationals, and 20 different winners. The Pro X30 class began as TaG Senior in 2003 and eventually transitioned to X30 Senior when SKUSA made the move to an all-IAME platform. Despite the many years of SuperNats history , and the over 1,500 in entries who have competed at the event during that time, 20 drivers have etched their names in the history books as winners on SuperSunday.

This year’s field is at 61 drivers, including defending champion Donovan Bonilla (Rolison Performance Group). The driver from Mexico finished third at the SKUSA Winter Series with a win – his only of the season – as he went podium-less at the SKUSA Pro Tour. It was a similar season in 2023, when he traveled to Vegas and left SuperSunday as the winner.

Bonilla and 2021 winner Ryan Norberg (Rolison Performance Group) are the only two former Pro X30 winners in the field with a chance to break up the 20-driver streak over the 20 editions of the class. Norberg, the now six-time SKUSA Pro Tour champion, fought back from a DNF at the SpringNationals, winning the WinterNationals and SummerNationals to clinch his newest title. The 25-year-old drove from 18th to a stellar second in last year’s event. Over his seven SuperNationals starts, he has three podium results and five top-five finishes.

Drivers in the SKUSA Pro Tour title hunt to the very end included Hayden Jones, Diego Ramos, Brandon Carr, and Pauly Massimino. Jones (Rolison Performance Group) ran only the SKUSA Pro Tour in 2024 with a best finish of second at the WinterNationals. He recorded his best SuperNationals result in three starts last year, placing sixth. Ramos (PSL Karting) stood on the podium twice on the SKUSA Pro Tour to finish the championship in third. His best SuperNationals finish was 18th last year in three starts. Carr (Trinity Karting Group) is among the 17 drivers performing double duty with KA and X30. The British driver was fourth in the SKUSA Pro Tour. He has made five starts at the SuperNationals with a DNF last year in his only Pro X30 start.

Massimino (BJR/MDR) is among the four former SuperNationals winners in the field, finishing fifth in the 2024 SKUSA Pro Tour standings. The 2019 KA100 Senior winner has only two starts in Pro X30 with a best finish last year of 13th. He enters this year’s event as the OK-N champion for Stars Championship Series. Steven Miller (Nash Motorsportz) is the fourth SuperNationals winner competing in Pro X30. The driver from Florida won KA100 Junior at the SuperNationals in 2022 and is coming off victory at ROK Vegas. He is among the handful of Senior rookies in the field, which includes Austin Olds (MPG Academy), Nixx Eggleston (Ruthless Karting), Jensen Burnett (Chad Dokken Racing), Archer Eversman (Forward Direction Motorsports), and Canadian Lucas Deslongchamps (Rolison Performance Group).

Nearly half the field come from outside the USA, which includes 13 different countries represented. Among them are five from Great Britian. FIA Karting OK World Championship runner-up Joe Turney (Trinity Karting Group) is set to make his SuperNationals debut after missing 2023 due to an injury sustained at the world championships that year. Turney – the 2023 SKUSA Pro Tour champion – made one start in the USA this season, winning the USPKS Carolina Grand Prix. Kai Hunter (Rolison Performance Group) was another British invader in 2024, winning the SKUSA SpringNationals in Ohio. The multi-time British champion will be making his first SuperNationals start. Same for Matthew Higgins (Energy Corse Americas) – who finished third at the FIA Karting OK World Championships. Higgins will run both KA and X30 in his first start at the SuperNationals. Harley Keeble rounds out the British drivers, coming off an up and down season in the USA that included a move from Sodi to Inter MS, transitioning from Sodi Kart to Kart Republic and now to an OTK product. Keeble was on the podium last year, finishing fifth.

Four of the five podium finishers will be in the field. USPKS 2024 champion Austin Garrison (Speed Concepts Racing) finished third for a career best finish after five starts in the category at the SuperNationals. The 2014 SKUSA Pro Tour S2 champion is entering Vegas with likely his best season of his tenured career. Top 10 finishers returning include Alessandro de Tullio, Chase Hand, and Nicholas Terlecki. This is likely the last karting event for some time for de Tullio (Inter MS) with his focus turning to the USF Pro Championships in 2025. A runner-up result was his best SuperNationals finish, coming in 2019. Hand (GFC Karting) is another double duty driver, riding on three top-10 results in his last three starts at the SuperNationals with KA100 Junior, KA100 Senior, and Pro X30 in consecutive years. Terlecki (Hotz Driver Development) was eighth in his only start in Pro X30 last year, enjoying a podium result in KA back in 2021.

Other international names on the list include Ruben Moya and Andy Ratel under the Forward Direction Motorsports tent. Spanish driver Moya is a 2023 IAME Winter Cup winner while the Frenchman Ratel has podium finishes at the international level in different categories.

Notable names to keep an eye on in Vegas are Chase Jones, Dalton Hanes, Ayden Ingratta, Blake Nash, and Frankie Mossman. Jones (MPG Academy) is moving from KA100 Senior, where he was runner-up last year in Vegas. Hanes (SLA Kart Racing) has two top-15 results in three starts at the SuperNationals, coming off a great showing at the Rotax Grand Finals. Ingratta (Rolison Performance Group) is among the Canadian contingent, and he was focused on USF Pro Championship action for most of 2024. This is his second start in Pro X30 after placing 22nd in 2022. Nash (Nash Motorsportz) spent much of the year racing OK action with the factory Tony Kart team, holding a best SuperNationals result of 19th. Mossman (BJR/MDR) is set for his fourth start at the SuperNationals with a best finish of 18th twice, in 2021 and 2022.
