Cascadia Karting Cup Expands to Three Events in 2027
New championship program to serve the Pacific Northwest region
FTK Promotions is set to launch a new championship program for 2027, expanding the Cascadia Karting Cup presented by Shinko Racing Kart Tires to a three-event series. Fresh off the inaugural event at the Pat’s Acres Racing Complex earlier this month, a three race schedule spread over five months has been established for next season.
Andy Seesemann, owner of FTK Promotions, is working directly with industry members and karting facilities in the Pacific Northwest region to bring the ‘Challenge-style’ atmosphere and professionalism into regional racing for the area.
“The feedback from the inaugural Cascadia Karting Cup has been overwhelmingly positive, even from those who weren’t in attendance,” stated Andy Seesemann of FTK Promotions. “This feedback combined with the turnout has proven that there is future for this program. Therefore, I am expanding it from one to three events for 2027.”
A return to Pat’s Acres Racing Complex in 2027 will close out the three event program with the same October weekend.
“The timing is perfect for Andy and his team to introduce the level of events they produce to the racers up here in the Pacific Northwest,” commented Chris Egger, owner of Pat’s Acres Racing Complex. “A series that focuses its class structure to the national level programs is what’s been missing here in the region for a few years. Andy brings a level of consistency and professionalism that has been developed over nearly 20 years of putting on high level race weekends. Great people, a solid and consistent approach to tech and the race weekend program are some of the things that have allowed their crew to gain the respect from racers. A tight schedule, unmatched track time, and professionalism from the staff, will be more than enough to keep you coming back.”
To open the 2027 Cascadia Karting Cup championship program, the first event will visit the ‘Mac Track’, the home of Portland Karting Association. The PKA facility is in McMinnville, Oregon, roughly an hour away from downtown Portland. Located at the Yamhill County Fairgrounds, the Mac Track is 6/10-mile long with 14 corners. The club-maintained facility is also part of the Oregon State Karting Championship Series with Pat’s Acres Racing Complex.
“Portland Karting Association is thrilled to welcome the first round of the 2027 Cascadia Karting Cup to our track,” stated Adam Anseth of the Portland Karting Association. “Hosting this prestigious series allows us to bring elite-level kart racing to the Pacific Northwest while showcasing our local racing community and facility. This event creates a unique opportunity for our local drivers to compete against top talent from across the region and gain experience in a national-caliber racing environment, all while racing on their home track.”
Negotiations are underway to lock down the location for the middle event of the 2027 Cascadia Karting Cup, set to be held in the month of June.
“I am excited to grow the Cascadia Karting Cup to three events for 2027, added Seesemann. “Opening at the MAC track, one of the mainstays in Pacific Northwest karting, should set us off on the right track with large fields. Our success at Pat’s Acres was encouraging, so it was no brainer to go back there for the finale. I looked at the typical dates for other programs and events in the region and determined that these three weekends would not conflict with any of those typical dates. I also made sure that there were no conflicts with the SKUSA Pro Tour or ProKart Challenge schedules.”
Classes for the Cascadia Karting Cup in 2027 will follow the same format as what was offered at the 2026 event at Pat’s Acres, featuring a combination of shifter, 2-cycle and 4-cycle divisions. There will be 100cc divisions for Senior, Junior, and Masters levels, featuring three engine platforms – ROK, IAME and X-Series – along with all three manufactures included in the 60cc Cadet division. Shifter Light and Shifter Heavy welcomes all KZ models and ROK Shifter engines. Briggs & Stratton 206 is offered for Senior, Junior, Masters and Cadet.
