NOLA Motorsports Park
NOLA Motorsports Park was built in 2011, less than 30 minutes from the historic New Orleans French Quater, and boasts an impressive pedigree. Within the 750 acres is a 2.67 Mile Sports Car course, Skid Pad, Garages, event center, and one of the largest karting complexes in the United States. The karting circuit, dubbed “The Fastest Karting Track in the South,” is built on 30 acres and supports over 80 configurations, including the 0.95-mile SKUSA Pro Circuit. NOLA Motorsports Park has played host to some of the most prestigious karting events in the world. The pinnacle was the 2013 ROTAX Grand Finals with entries from over 60 countries, along with SKUSA, ROK Cup USA, Cup Karts North America, Texas Sprint Racing Series, and many more have held events at this incredible state-of-the-art facility.
After a more than 2-year hiatus, NOLA Motorsports Park will once again offer regional-local level, race events. Since the park’s opening, there has always been strong support from local and regional sprint kart racers. However, the facility made a hard decision to cease its Sprint competitions and concentrate on the rental and league side of the complex’s operational details. With the continued success of this segment of their facility, efforts have been made to bring regional Sprint Racing back to NOLA Motorsports Park in collaboration with Drive Your Line, LLC and its owner Christy Kendall of Brandon, Mississippi, starting as soon as September 2022.
“I have had a passion for karting since I started in 1976. I’ve participated in many other forms of motorsport, but I seem to always return to karting. Today’s karting climate concentrates on the big events and the club level and regional levels are getting left behind. Without lower-tier sprint racing, we have fewer racers at the top levels of the sport. I manage the track in Jackson, Mississippi with the Mississippi Karters Association and the City of Jackson Parks and Recreation Department. That club has done incredibly well this season and served as a barometer to me regarding the growth of this sport in our Mid-South region. We have a huge karting base in this portion of the country and that is largely due to NOLA Motorsports Park’s previously successfully karting program in the past. With five sprint tracks in Mississippi and Louisiana alone, why would you not embrace this region? I feel the return of Sprint Karting at NOLA Motorsports Park will inject a huge amount of attention to the sport and the facility”
As if this isn’t exciting enough, insert the Finishline Performance Karting complex, located on the shores of Biloxi, Mississippi that overlooks the Gulf of Mexico just a short drive from NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, Louisiana. Finishline Performance Karting with its two tracks – rentals and a 16-turn with multiple configuration competition track – on the property offers different driving experiences for its competitors. The rear competition track served as the home of the 2019 ROK Biloxi Festival. Drive Your Line and Finishline Performance Karting will add two new events to the ‘Karting the Coast’ Schedule. With so much to see and do on the Mississippi coast, this location provides something for everyone. Biloxi Aquarium, white sandy beaches, countless Gulf Shore attractions, and accommodations!
Kendall also operates Drive Your Line, which serves the needs of the region’s racers as a full-service kart shop, representing CompKart, Tillotson, and Margay chassis, she also promotes races, manages events, and works with other facilities on their operations and marketing plans.
“Five races, two incredible tracks, classes to suit the needs, skill level, and pocketbook of just about everyone. Coupled with locations that are far from boring! We hope to finish this season out strong and come back in 2023 with more dates, concentrating on the cooler weather of the spring and fall seasons in this region.”
