The Arapahoe County Public Airport Authority is the owner and operator of the Centennial Airport in Englewood, Colorado. On its property is a kart track that was developed back in the 2000s – named ‘The Track at Centennial’. The facility has hosted several local, regional and national events over the years, including the 2007 US Rotax Grand Nationals. At one time, The Track at Centennial was the premiere facility in the Rocky Mountain region.
EKN has learned that the Airport Authority is soliciting ‘Requests for Proposals’ for the operation of, and improvements to, the karting track at Centennial Airport.
The Track at Centennial first opened back in 2006, developed by Jim Keesling. He managed the circuit until the end of 2015. Podium Karting Centennial entered into a sublease agreement of the race track facility in 2016 with the goal of adding a number of amenities to the facility. Nothing on the site progressed, and there has not been any karting held at the facility since 2018.
The Airport Authority is asking interested parties to supply all the information required by the Request for Proposals to be submitted by January 12, 2024, no later than 3pm MST. To learn more information, head to their website or contact Luke Skaflen via email (lskaflen@centennialairport.com).
