Sebastian BaconParticipantAndrew,
If I remember correctly, I think I ran a 10/78 with a 3 pipe. This is about equivalent to an 11/85 or 11/86. So I think the 85 should work pretty well. I would start with the 85 and go from there.
Hope this helps.
Sebastian

Sebastian BaconParticipantDavid,
Welcome to karting! This is an awesome sport, but it can be confusing. I definitely recommend talking to a shop and talking to local racers. MDG Karting in Orange, CA is a great shop that is only a short drive from you. I have known the owner, Stu Hayner, for a long time and he is very passionate about getting new racers into the sport of karting, and keeping them in the sport. He can answer all your questions and also set you up with a good kart that is ready to run for a good price. Check them out at http://mdgkarting.com/.
Have fun and best of luck with your search!

January 22, 2015 at 7:52 pm in reply to: Legal pipe for KT100 class. Is it the same for everyone? #40924Sebastian BaconParticipantBakersfield and Dixon run what is called the Senior Super Sportsman class. This class utilizes an RLV3 pipe. This is a different pipe than the L2 pipe (or any other A/L/G series pipe). It is a smaller pipe than the L2, making it potentially easier on clutches and engines. Both or either club may allow the use of an HPV3 pipe, which can be found used for less money than a new RLV3 pipe. The HPV3 and RLV3 pipe are very similar.

Sebastian BaconParticipantYes, both KT100’s have 787 cylinders.
