Mike BrayParticipant
I made one of these and use 1/16″ cobalt drills in a small drill press. You could hand drill in a vise also but since I have the drill press that’s what I use.

Not sure if I’m lucky or good but I’ve drilled a ton of bolts, both stainless and high tensile, and haven’t broken a drill yet. I can drill a bolt in literally 30-45 seconds and unscrewing the bolt from the jig deburs the threads.
I have a drawing I can share if anyone is interested.
Mike BrayParticipantStart with a Denso IW27 plug and tune from there.
Mike BrayParticipantI wouldn’t say it’s chronic I’ve certainly had issues shipping and receiving with USPS. Never had an issue with packing (I use the shipping department at work), just lost stuff. I’ve had a ton of stuff delivered to the wrong address, this seems to be their favorite. I’ve got a batch of relatives that all worked for the post office and they all tell me it ain’t what it used to be. Never once had an issue with Fedex or UPS other than the occasional delayed shipment. At least you can track with them.
Mike BrayParticipantThat is such a tough one and there’s no real answer to your question. Technically he probably fulfill his obligation unless you specifically requested something other than what he did. Now you’re out money and don’t have your parts, that sucks.
I know it’s little consolation but I’ve learned this lesson the hard way from both sides. Last year I sold a Comer part on ebay and shipped it by USPS. The buyer claims he never received it (no way to prove either way) and PayPal gave him a refund which I had to reimburse even though I have a receipt from the post office. Fortunately it wasn’t that much money but what pissed me off royally is the wanker left negative feedback on me on ebay. He got his money back and I have a very, very long history of positive feedback so I’m at a loss as to why he would do that. I’m just hoping karma catches up some day. I’ve also had similar situations as you’ve just experienced but usually I don’t receive anything at all.
Now days I only ship and have items shipped to me via Fedex or UPS so they can be tracked. It may cost a bit more than USPS but you always get what you pay for.
Sorry for your loss.
Mike BrayParticipantI have a weather station and a spreadsheet I use for jetting, works great. Just let me know if you want the spreadsheet and I’ll send it to you. These sites might help you some with basic information.

Mike BrayParticipantCheck out Fastenal.
Mike BrayParticipantI’ve heard more than one person say they used Fastenal and were very pleased with the rates. https://www.fastenal.com/web/en/22/third-party-logistics-%283pl%29
Mike BrayParticipantJust a centered pill on the bottom, I don’t need too much adjustability.
Mike BrayParticipantI just installed these on an Arrow X1 and they are great. It’s your choice as to whether you install on the top only or both top & bottom. Most are only on the top. Things to know, the hole in the chassis yoke has to be 22mm, I had to buy a reamer and open them up, at least on my 10mm kingpin ones. You have to drill & tap 2 M4 holes for each adjuster base to bolt it to the frame. And my kingpins were too short with the Sniper units installed and I had to buy shoulder bolts and drill them for a cotter pin.
After all that though I love them, very quick and easy to adjust. With my Sniper lasers I set the toe and camber in about 5 minutes from scratch.
Mike BrayParticipantThere are less expensive ones out there but here’s the concept of a dowel pin puller tool.
February 9, 2014 at 3:27 pm in reply to: Has anybody used acceleration kart racing to rebuild a rotax? #21249Mike BrayParticipantI’m very interested in this thread. I have been to Acceleration Karting and they certainly have a nice facility staffed with really nice people. I haven’t had one of my Rotax serviced by them but I’m considering it. I believe they were one of the first Rotax service centers in America.
The next time I’m on vacation in Vegas I’m going to stop in again and talk Rotax!
Mike BrayParticipantI’ll take the Sniper laser chain adjuster. PM sent.
Mike BrayParticipant
What the heck, I’ll play devil’s advocate. The logic of “less safety equipment means more safety” makes no sense.
It makes perfect sense because it teaches you how to DRIVE, not just become a Kamikaze.
Mike BrayParticipantHere’s a hint for you. I wear very expensive frameless glasses that I didn’t want to risk at the track. Just get your prescription and go to one of the online eyeglasses sites and buy some simple and sturdy glasses for wearing in a helmet. I used 39dollarglasses.com but there are several sites around. Since I was only going to use these for karting I dropped the progressive part and had them tinted yellow for better daytime vision. I received them in a couple of weeks and I think I paid about $60 total. I wear them in a Bell Sport with no issues.
Mike BrayParticipantI remember seeing an interview with AJ Foyt where he talked about safety and the old days of racing compared to today. In the 50’s and 60’s drivers were getting seriously hurt and killed on a weekly basis because of the lack of safety like they have today. Because of the high risk he said a driver really learned to thread the needle because he knew if he missed he was probably going to be either dead or doing some sheet time. Foyt felt like it made for a better and more polished driver.
No one ever wants to see someone get hurt, especially me. I think today’s karts have about the right amount of bodywork to be safe enough but not so much as to throw caution to the wind. Karting should be making good polished drivers, not just brave drives.
Mike BrayParticipantYou might look at these guys on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/usr/kartsports They have 50mm axles for about $150, 2/3 what an original Arrow one costs. Or Comet has some aftermarket ones for anywhere from $129 to 164.
Mike BrayParticipantRacing – because football, baseball, and basketball only require one ball.
Mike BrayParticipantI’ve posted a sketch if anyone wants to make their own. Choose your own material, I used type 303 stainless steel.

Mike BrayParticipantSee if this works. I just did a test and it seemed to work ok.
