We had some local high school kids out at the track this weekend. Put them in the arrive-n-drive karts and let them go…

    Should be an easy fix.

There are 6 o-rings. 1 each for the 4 head bolts and 2 more for the head. There is also a shim under the small head o-ring.

Drain the water, pull the head off, remove the old O-rings and check to insure you have the shim. Then just install the new O-rings, bolt on the head and refill with water.

    You should be good-to-go.

I had the inner head o-ring go out on mine (turned the motor into a waterpump…). after replacing all the O-rings, and installing the shim that was missing, the motor ran great at the last race.

Donated a couple of cadet chassis’s to the local club for Arrive-n-drive.

Traded an old Emmick to another forum member so he could fix it up and hang it on the wall. I got an old LTO kart that I wish I had more time for…

Currently run another old Emmick just for fun in the 4cycle class at the track.

“Stuff” happens…it’s racing…a bad day at the track is still better than a “good” day at work.

The main reason I race sprint is because the track is only 20 mins from the house and I can go practice anytime I want…like tomorrow…(since the Government is shut down…). I raced dirt for awhile and enjoyed it, but I could only get on the track once a month. There are paved ovals and big tracks I could race on but they are several hours drive away and I would only be able to run those when they have an event.

I really like being able to go to the track when ever I want to.

I f the 40mm axles parts is too much of a hurtle just let me know….I’ll loan you my ’80’s (?) Emmick with an 1.25 axle. You can still get parts for them!

and…it already has the big rear bumper.

Oooops, nevermind, just noticed you need front brakes and a shifter…LOL

Can you explain karting??? or is something you just have to try before you get it???

I don’t try to explain kart to new people I try to get them in a kart! I have a local club with an Arrive n Drive day just about every month.

How I explain it to them depends on the individual…If they have kids then I talk about how cheap it is to take them out on an A&D day to see if they like it first before they spend the money on a kart…etc. If they are younger and looking to do it themselves then I try to relate it to something they are currently doing… If they are older…I talk about us old fat guys and all the fun we have racing each other…LOL

Worked a corner at an IKF race that was at our track 2 weeks ago…figures the only 2 incidences that day were on my corner..LOL

It’s amazing what you can learn about how other people take a corner, when you’re standing there…all day!
