Pitt Race Karting Series Season Opens With A Wet Yet Competitive Rounds 1 and 2

The 2017 Pitt Race Karting Series opened just as the 2016 season ended. Rainy and wet, but that didn’t stop the competition or dampen the spirts of the racers. Excited to tackle the climb for the championships, Saturday opened the racing with some slow action. Sunday saw a change in the weather as well as a tightening of competitive spirits.

Highlights of the opening two rounds of the PRKS series included the evolution of Sean Frederick. Frederick was a competitive rental karter who found his way into the Pitt Race Rental League. During his time here, Fredrick honed his skills and racing aptitude. In 2017, Fredrick finds himself in the opening stages of a competitive TAG Class, claiming a second place finish in his first ever race.

Dave Kalbe, Jr., always a strong competitor in PRKS, drove a super strong race in TAG and also ran an amazing time in LO206. Kalbe’s TAG and LO206 efforts lead him to dueling first places in Round 2.

Vaughn Glace seemed to mature before everyone’s eyes. Having driven strong race efforts in Yamaha Junior Can, 2017 finds glace stepping up to Yamaha Senior Can. Glace’s strong developmental efforts we rewarded with a Second Place finish in Round 1 and a First Place in Round 2.

This year PRKS welcomes back many competitive faces including 2016 champions, Rudy Argas, Vaughn Glace, Annie Rhule, Nico Montileone, John Flucker, and David Kalb Jr. All of these racers look to defend their titles through the seven race 2017 season.
