Karting has prepared yet another young driver for excellence in other forms of motorsports competition.  Karting for over 10 years, 16 year old Hannah Grisham took just 3 months to earn her first Regional podium, in NASA’s very competitive Spec Miata class, where she earned 2nd place on June 19 at the technical Buttonwillow road course.

“I am very lucky to have been given this opportunity by Morning Star Motorsports and C2C Racing, and can not thank my driving mentor, James Brown, enough for everything he has taught me and done for me” says Hannah.  “I am also competing in the Teen Mazda Challenge which is the first rung of the Mazda ladder.”  Mazda is very involved in developing drivers in both open and closed wheel competition, providing numerous generous scholarship opportunities.  “My goal is to qualify for the Mazda Shootout and compete for a seat in the Mazda MX5 cup.”

Hannah’s next race is a Teen Mazda Challenge race on July 16-17 at Sonoma Raceway, wherein she will take on, among others, several accomplished young drivers who cut their teeth in karting.  “I love karting” reports Hannah.  “It is the most exciting, wheel to wheel action in the world.  I already miss it a lot, but my Dad has promised me I will have time to race the SKUSA Lancaster Grand Prix this year, which I am really looking forward to.”
