Karting suit?

  Depends on the quality, and that’s what really matters. You can get custom suits at reasonable price.
  
  K1 RaceGear has a number of suits available, and can do custom designs.

  The short answer is if you are currently wasting your time and money on a sport that you’ll try and give up on in short order, then if you buy an e-bay suit that will be less money wasted than if you bought a good suit, wore it a couple times, and quit. If you stick with the sport, you’ll want a name-brand suit. Having said that, I got my first (name brand) suit used off e-bay for $25 and used it for four years.
  
  I see you’re at Lake Stevens. There’s a race at SIMA tomorrow (March 26) and the weather forecast is awesome. Come by, check it out, talk to people, ask questions.

  Jim, I would love to, but I have to work and it’s also my wife’s birthday. I’ll have to make it up there, I hear a lot of great things about SIMA. I’ve only been to PGP, and not with my own kart yet.
  
  Thanks for the suggestions. I think I’ll probably swing for a better quality suit for around $150. If I don’t get into this then I could probably sell it for a decent price. I already have decent shoes and some OMP gloves I use for driving as well.

  I have two K1 suits (one red one blue) that were $100 a piece and they have served me well. I wear them around the pits and tell everyone that “I drive flat out”, works for me.
