Can Someone Explain the Punch system to me

  Punches are acquired from competing in a rmax sanctioned regional series. The start new for the next year at the end of the current year Grand Nationals.
  
  FWT, COA, PanAm challenge and now Super Nats are stand alone events and I believe don’t count as a punch race. I would think this is because FWT, COA, and I think PanAm all offer direct transfer spots to the world finals.

  Only USRMC events can you receive a ‘Punch’ toward the US Rotax Grand Nationals. The FWT, Challenge of the Americas, and Pan Am Challenge are international events and do not count toward USRMC punches. Punches began January 1 of the season.

  So can I assume that at the FWT , COA , and Pan Am Events a karter could bring their own Rotax Motor SEALED by their countries Rotax importer or approved service center and be legal ?
  
  It appeared that there was an issue with a competitor at the USA grand Nationals that had a UK seal on it . My question between countries are there ANY differences with the Motors as far as Classes go ? I would think NOT . Sad to see a kid get DQ’d but the rules are the rules .

  Here are the rules for the Challenge of the Americas for 2013. I’m sure they will be similar in 2014. Check the FWT website for their rules.
  
  I can’t find the USRMC regulations, but yes, engines must be sealed by a US Service Center in order to be eligible for competition in a USRMC event.

  Acquiring punches can begin after the US Grand Nationals, as you see from this recent GN registration form –
  
  Please list four Rotax Max Challenge events competed in since August 15th, 2012. If you have not acquired “4” punches throughout the course of the year you will not be allowed to race, unless otherwise approved through prior written documentation with Josh Smith, USRMC administrator.
