K&K Kart Continues to Set Milestones in Briggs LO206 Racing
The K&K Team was coming fresh off a phenomenal Briggs Junior/Senior/Masters 3 class sweep & points lead in the 3 classes at the new CRFKC SERIES, as they headed back to Goodwood for the first round of the 2015 ECKC.
At the Goodwood ECKC, the K&K juniors had an unprecedented, dominating 1-2-3 sweep Saturday in a 28 kart field. Braxton Terry now leaves Goodwood as the 2015 Junior Briggs points leader. Zach Latimer & Josh Conquer had podium finishes. Keidon Fletcher had a Top 10 finish in his first ECKC event.
Defending 2 time ECKC Senior Champion Jon Treadwell had a podium finish on Sunday, after leading huge field races SAT/SUN and a Pole position.
Defending ECKC Masters Champion Keith Barrick’s replacement. Mike Rogers had a podium finish Sunday, after leading both races SAT/SUN. Kyle Aulenback had Top 5″ finishes both days.
K&K Kart has won more ECKC Briggs championships than any other brand, and is again in the unenviable position of ECKC title defenses. “It’s tough to stay at the top for so many years. You have no where to go but down,” explains K&K team owner, Kevin Barrick.
The dedication and effort K&K has put into working with, and succeeding at the Briggs program over the last 5 years, has paid off in spades. “Not only has the Italian purpose built, budget conscious “K&K Cobra” chassis won countless championships, it has brought all the top teams and drivers out of the woodwork to try and prevent K&K from repeating their championships. It is great for the sport,” states Barrick. “While it is flattering, it does make for tough, incredible competition. The kind of which the top K&K drivers will have to rise to, as they have for so many years. This breeds great racing and along with it will come new winners….and we congratulate them,” laments Barrick.
