Looking to carry their momentum from the first two rounds of the Superkarts! USA(SKUSA) ProKart Challenge program, P1 Engines staff and a host of P1 Engines powered customers would travel to Buttonwillow Raceway for round three of the 2015 program. Ending the weekend with multiple race wins and podiums, P1 Engines continues to add to their growing resume as they march into the second quarter of the 2015 karting season.

In the IAME Swift TaG Cadet division, it was Nash Motorsportz and P1 Engines powered Jak Crawford that would provide the weekend’s best results. Running well from the moment the kart hit the track, Crawford turned his sixth place qualifying effort to two top-three positions in the heat races. Taking the lead in the opening corner of the main event, the Texan pilot never looked back taking the win by over 3.5 seconds.

PKS drivers Oliver Calvo and Tomas Mejia would also see action in the TaG Cadet class. Calvo would qualify his P1 powered kart in the third position but would run into trouble in the first of two heat races. Starting heat two from the tail of the field, the youngster drove to a fifth place result before advancing two more positions in the main event to stand on the podium in the third position. Mejia would show his speed throughout the weekend and run inside the top-ten. When the dust had finally settled and the final checkered flag was flown, the P1 Engines driver would cross the line in the sixth position.

P1 Engines would have one competitor in the TaG Cadet Rookie class, as Aiden Kempf would race out of the PKS stable. Running in the top-five before the start of the day’s final, Kempf turned up the wick in the main event and drove forward to finish on the podium in the second position.

Four P1 Engines customers would enter the TaG Senior division including Austin Elliott with Rolison Performance Group and Christian Brooks with Nash Motorsportz. Elliott would qualify in the third position and run strong in the first heat to hold station for the start of heat two inside the second row. Falling back to tenth in heat two, Elliott made up for it in the main event and crossed the finish line third. Following the main event, the first two competitors received penalties for not acknowledging the yellow flag thus moving Elliott to the top step of the podium. Brooks would have the same sort of luck as Elliott as he ran close to the front of the field in the double heat race format. Crossing the stripe in fourth on track, Brooks took advantage of the penalties to his competitors and was advanced to the second position, putting P1 Engines drivers on the first and second steps of the podium.

Nick Ramirez would finally have some luck go his way as he drove to fifth in the TaG Senior main event while fellow P1 Engines powered drivers Justice Lepe, David Vasquez, and Blake Milton finished eighth, ninth and tenth respectively making it six drivers in the top-ten for P1 Engines.

Mike Middleton would enter his first SKUSA ProKart Challenge race of the season in the TaG Masters division and would show speed throughout the day. Remaining consistent on his finishes, Middleton would also reach the podium in the second position.

Jonathon Shone, Dante Yu, Anthony Sawyer, Dylan Cartier and Colby Dubato would represent P1 Engines in TaG Junior as all five drivers finished in the top-ten.
