According to WKA 2014 TM Section 115:

M and SA 2005 rated helmets are legal until 12/20/2016.

Thanks.  Last year a tech guy told my dad he would need to replace his helmet for this year.  Guess he was wrong.

From the CES Pre-Tech Form for the 2015 Blackhawk Event, a helmet must meet one of these qualification:
      M2005, SA2005, K98, K2005 or SFI 24.1, 31.1A, 31.2A, 31.1/2005, 41.1/2005, 41.2a or FIA 8860-2004 or Snell-FIA CMS/CMR2007 or ECE-22.05

It would appear that a 2005 rated helmet is legal in CES, but I would contact Dave to be sure.

If anyone is thinking about purchasing a “better quality” helmet I got a message from SafeRacer that they have 20% off and free shipping on all 2010 Arai helmets.
Here’s the link to the karting helmet if anyone is interested. The eye portal is not large enough on this helmet for my guy and we usually buy Bell helmets, but it is a heck of a deal.

The way most orgs write their rules, I would think a 2010 would be good until a year after the manufacturers come out with the 2020, or 12/20/21.
