Fourth Annual Syd White Memorial Enduro Set for This Weekend

As the 2015 season gets underway, the time has once again arrived to prepare for one of the most exciting and unique events of the year, the Syd White Memorial Enduro. The 2014 race provided the closest finish in the three-year history of the event, with the local team of Team Merrill taking the win and setting a new race lap record and new track lap record in the process. The race has grown since its inception in 2012, and 2015 promises to be the best yet with many exciting changes.

The biggest and most exciting change to the 2015 enduro is the added support of Briggs and Stratton Racing. Because of this support, the 2015 Syd White Enduro will be a Briggs and Stratton only event, utilizing the World Formula and LO206 platforms. A limited supply of Local Option 206 engines have been sold for a discounted price of $400.00. This was done to encourage the growth of the LO206 platform not only within the race, but within the Northern California region. Monterey Bay Karters believes in the future of the region and believes that future lies with the LO206 platform. All eight of the engines sold will be used during the race. As an added bonus to make this deal even sweeter, Monterey Bay Karters will give the top eith finishers in LO206 Senior $100 as a prize, no matter the finishing position. The top two in the Jr. LO206 class will also receive $100 each.

Defending champions of the World Formula Senior class and the overall results, Team Merrill, will look to repeat in 2015. Made up of a father-son trio, utilizing the popular Italkart, Team Merrill looks to be the odds-on favorite again, but they will see competition from inaugural winners Agan Motorsports in their new Praga chassis, and the KPX Racing Team in their trusty Tony Kart.

World Formula Masters has seen solid growth since last year as seven teams look for the victory. Agan Motorsports will also look to defend their win in World Formula Masters, but using an all-new driver line-up. They will be challenged by Team Swiss, who is making the trip from Portland, Oregon.

Last but not least, are the LO206 classes. Rossi Racing will look to defend their win from 2014, but that will be easier said than done. LO206 is the largest class on the entry sheet with eight teams competing. AK Motorsports, out of the Agan Motorsports stable, looks to take another win in a new class, as are 2014 Clone class winners, the Green Hornets. In the new Jr L)206 class, the local Tony Kart team of Pegler Racing will be a force, looking strong in pre-event practice.

The 2015 race will have a new, more exciting form of qualifying on Saturday, as well as subtle changes to the rules for the race itself. Monterey Bay Karters is very excited about this year’s race and feel that it will be the best yet!
