No idea! That does look lethal. Good drafting job though.

People have, so please tread lightly on that subject. As for the track, it isn’t nearly as scary as it looks. Its a blast to race, has a 3100 foot 120 mph piston sticking straightaway, and is set in a beautiful state park. Come join us for the two races scheduled there this year. You’ll be glad you did.

I’ve raced at Afton since 1980. Think about it this way, if you look at Daytona, Road America, Road Atlanta, Topeka, etc., you’ll notice they all have walls around much of the track. If you look at Afton and Garnett, you’ll see some trees and other obstacles here and there. When someone asks me how I can race at one of these places with all the trees and stuff all around the track, It’s a very easy answer. If I go off at a track with a wall, I am not going to miss that wall, period. End of discussion. If I go off at Afton or Garnett, I have a pretty decent chance of missing a tree.
Afton actually has a pretty good safety record. I feel pretty safe there. BTW, I do see 133mph at the end of the back straight.

I didn’t say I wouldn’t race there, but in today’s day and age, I’m shocked that such a place exists to race at… you’ll have to post back details on entry here.  If I travel outside NC to race, I’m most likely to go to Rock Island, IL…but if these events are convenient, who knows…
