      Exhaust gas temperature is the best way to check jetting

      Jack,
      you want a water temp sensor that screws into the cylinder head and an exhaust gas temperature sensor.
      You are going to want to monitor the water so that is 140-150. The EGT to monitor if the exhaust starts to cool before the end of the longest straight. That temp will be somewhere around 1300.
      For jetting you’ll should have some sort to jetting software and watch your plug and exhaust color.
      CHT temp sensors are for air cooled engines.
