With the 2014 season officially in the books, this past year may arguably be one of the most successful years for the Checkered Motorsports operation.  Focusing on delivering results on track and across the U.S. the Girard, Ohio based team spread their black and yellow colors to the front of the grid.  Focusing on the Florida and Midwest market the karts were dominate in all categories from sportsman to the shifter class earning 7 national titles.

“With the goal of making improvements both on and off the track, the team did just that in 2014,” stated team owner Csaba Bujdoso.  “2015 will mark a new chapter and a stronger team.  Our dedication and precision to details has allowed us to move forward.  Look out for a more experienced and hardworking team. “

Checkered Motorsports brought as many as sixteen drivers to the United States Pro Karting Series in 2014. One of those were Florida’s AJ Myers, who took home the Leopard Pro Championship with two wins.  Ryan Norberg, J.P. Southern Jr., and Francois Brun-Wibaux also  brought home victories tallying a total of 6 wins for the year.  The rest of the team’s drivers left their mark on the series rallying up 27 podiums for the year, capping a successful 2014 campaign in the USPKS.

JP Southern Jr. lead the way from start to finish in the sportsman categories in the WKA Manufacturer’s Cup. Collecting 16 wins, 13 poles and 14 podiums on the year, JP won the highly sought  WKA Triple Crown by winning all three sportsman division titles. Andrew Bujdoso also collected a win on the year, while the team collected 23 podiums in total competing in the Manufacturer’s Cup 2014.

Checkered Motorsports brought two entries to the Robopong 200 in 2014, one veteran and one rookie. The Bujdoso brothers teamed up again in 2014, leading a majority of the race but having the race stolen from them with 11 laps to go due to a snapped spindle. Appearing in their first senior race ever, the rookie entry of Ryan Norberg and Sasha Brun-Wibaux impressed the entire paddock finishing 3^rd, and running the 2nd fastest lap of the entire race.

AJ Myers was as successful in Florida as he was in the Midwest aboard his PCR, winning the Rok Cup Shifter championship, just a year after winning the Rok Senior title.  Team drivers Austin Jordan and Sasha Brun-Wibaux also had major success in Rok Cup series.

AJ Myers entered the stacked KZ2 field at the SKUSA Supernationals in 2014 after his stellar performance at the Rok Cup Final in Italy. Working with PCR factory mechanic, Giuseppe Peppo Morcia , AJ weaved his way from a 18^th starting position in the final, finishing on the podium in 5^th, and placing as the highest finishing American. AJ Myers looks to keep his KZ momentum rolling into 2015, as he aims to run the WSK World Championships.

Checkered Motorsports also attacked the NESKS and F-Series Gearup Challenge this year. Nolan Ruocco won the F125 Junior title for a second year in a row aboard his PCR Super Strillo, while Robert Bujdoso and Kyle Smith claimed victories in their limited NESKS events.  Chris Guimarra a new addition to the team, gelled with the team from the start and earned the Formula 125 championship aboard his PCR Mxk8 chassis.

Checkered Motorsports, the official importer of PCR karts, will be contesting in the WKA Manufacturers Cup Series, Florida Pro Kart Series, Florida Winter Tour, GearUp F-Series, USPKS Series, and the SKUSA Pro Tour.  Tech support, transportation, and arrive and drive opportunities are available.
