I run an RM85 here in California. It’s stock an I run with the modified CR80/85’s.  On a short track i can keep up but the mod’s have the power on long straights.  I ran 6 race days and 10 practice days on a used engine.  I dropped in an new piston and ring an should get another season out of it.  I also run the pump around carb and an RLV pipe and silencer  The pipe is for a cr80.  I just cut off the manifold mount and welded on the RM 85 mount.

80/85 shifter class is probably the best bang for the buck and under rated.  Drop that engine in a kart and bang some gears, it will never get boring.  Have fun.

Ted. I ran a RM80 for several years and so did my son. It is a great package. I personally like the case induction of the rm over the jug induction of the cr. My only complaint with the little suzuki was the lack of after market components such as pipe chioces, motor mount choices and gears as compared to the CR.

Like Patrick said, bolt that baby on and go have fun. Its a great little engine
