K1 Circuit Winchester featured its fastest track layout of the Champions of the Future America season for Round 7 by running the Pro Track Layout with Chicanes. With the elimination of the technical section and the removal of the “D’s,” drivers were flat out for the majority of each lap.

Drivers were certainly thankful for the high-speed breeze as they raced in temperatures approaching triple digits throughout the weekend.

Tire supplier Presa by Maxxis provided all competitors with race tires throughout the challenging weekend.

Three drivers claimed their maiden Champions of the Future America victories this past weekend: Tre Sanders (Team Kartnick), Alejandro Gonzalez (HRT), and Dylan Albiani (Precision Works).

Three more drivers continued their winning ways, with Maddax Carlucci (Nash Motorsportz), Johnie Stamps (Formula Works), and Sergei Karamseili (MSRT Maxwell Motorsport) adding to their season win totals.

MINI U10 & Mini: U10’s Sanders Takes Overall Win, Carlucci Scores Mini Class Victory

Typically, we split our Mini U10 and Mini recaps despite the two classes competing together. However, with several Mini U10 drivers battling at the front throughout the weekend, we felt a combined recap was only appropriate.

Leading the Mini U10 field were newcomer Tre Sanders (Team Kartnick) and Benjamin Monroy (Position One Motorsports). Sanders won two Qualifying Heats, while Monroy—fresh off his debut victory last round—picked up where he left off by winning one Qualifying Heat and the Super Heat.

In Mini, championship runner-up Asher Biezonsky (Competition Speed) continued his strong weekend by winning two Qualifying Heats. Championship leader Maddax Carlucci (Nash Motorsportz) claimed one Qualifying Heat victory, while Kendall West (Position One Motorsports), third in the standings entering the weekend, captured the Super Heat win.

At the start of the Final, Carlucci got a strong launch from pole position, Sanders held onto second, and Monroy moved past West for third.

Sanders took the lead through Rocky Moran on Lap 2, and a five-kart lead group featuring Sanders, Carlucci, Monroy, West, and Biezonsky soon broke away from the rest of the field, opening nearly a two-second advantage.

On the final lap, Carlucci attempted an over-under move entering Turn 1 but made slight contact with the rear bumper of Sanders on corner exit. The contact cost Carlucci momentum onto the straight, allowing Monroy, West, and Biezonsky to move ahead before a red flag involving Asher Cloyes (Zach Woodsford Racing) and Caewan Adriano (Precision Driving Concepts) was displayed just two corners from the finish.

Per the regulations, the results reverted to the last completed crossing of the start-finish line. Sanders secured the overall victory, while Carlucci was classified second overall and first in the Mini class. Monroy finished third overall and second in Mini U10, followed by West in fourth overall (second in Mini) and Biezonsky in fifth overall (third in Mini).

Completing the Mini U10 results by class position were Lyon McPhail (Team Kartnick) in third, Lucas Freitas Melo (Nash Motorsportz) in fourth, Carson Bishop (Bishop Motorsports) in fifth, Caewan Adriano (Precision Driving Concepts) in sixth, Sebastian Matyjaszczyk (Precision Works/Pickle Rick) in seventh, Ezra Median (Native Racing) in eighth, Brandt Schlemmer in ninth, and Riley Juarez (Precision Driving Concepts) in tenth.

Bishop extended his championship lead to 62 points over Matyjaszczyk, while Freitas Melo reduced the gap to second place to just 18 points.

Completing the Mini class results were Sebastian Ochi (Team Kartnick) in fourth, Matteo Gomez (Position One Motorsports) in fifth, Emiliano Hernandez (Position One Motorsports) in sixth, Benjamin Tavi (Nash Motorsportz) in seventh, Lincoln Cloyes (Zach Woodsford Racing) in eighth, Aaron Seneviratne (Position One Motorsports) in ninth, and Eyal Bitton (Sanner Race Engine) in tenth.

Another strong points haul allowed Carlucci to extend his championship lead to 102 points over Biezonsky, while West closed to within 24 points of second place in the standings.

KA100 Junior: Alejandro Gonzalez Takes First Win in Action-Packed Race

Braydon Wagner (Formula Works) and Arran Speirs (Nash Motorsportz) each claimed a Qualifying Heat victory, while Daniel Ramirez (Axis Kartsport) earned one Qualifying Heat win and the Super Heat victory to secure pole position for the Final.

Daniel Ramirez led the field at the start, while Sebastian Hauser (HRT) immediately moved past championship rival Wagner for second. Diesel Biezonsky (Competition Speed) settled into third, followed by Tristan Murphy and Wagner.

Hauser wasted little time taking the lead, making his move on Daniel Ramirez at Turn 1 on Lap 2. Biezonsky followed him through into second, briefly, before Murphy and Ramirez moved past Biezonsky entering Turn 5.

A red flag following a solo incident involving Max Ucer (HRT) halted the race at the beginning of Lap 3. When racing resumed, the battle at the front intensified. Biezonsky and Wagner both moved past Daniel Ramirez, dropping him back to fifth, before he fought back to reclaim a position from Wagner into Turn 5 the next lap. Alejandro Gonzalez (HRT) capitalized on the battle by moving past Wagner as well.

On Lap 9, Gonzalez, who sat third, passed Daniel Ramirez, who had made his way back up to second, at Turn 1 before Hauser also moved past Daniel Ramirez. With five laps remaining, Gonzalez led Hauser, Daniel Ramirez, Biezonsky, Wagner, and Speirs in a tightly contested six-kart battle.

Speirs moved past Wagner for fifth at Turn 1 on Lap 12 before Hauser reclaimed the lead from Gonzalez at Turn 1 on Lap 14. Gonzalez answered immediately, retaking the lead through Turn 5, while Speirs advanced to fourth after passing Daniel Ramirez entering Rocky Moran.

Gonzalez held on over the closing laps to score his first Champions of the Future America victory. Behind him, Hauser defended aggressively through the final corners but ran wide exiting the final turn, allowing Daniel Ramirez, Wagner, and Biezonsky to slip through and take over second, third, and fourth, respectively. Hauser ultimately settled for fifth, while Speirs finished sixth. Nathan Ramirez (Team Kartnick) came home seventh, followed by Jet Whipple (Formula Works) in eighth, Henry Escalette (HRT) in ninth, and Jose Luis Sanchez (HRT / 2B Racing Motorsports) in tenth.

Despite two difficult weekends back-to-back, Hauser retains the championship lead, though his advantage has been trimmed to just 13 points over Wagner. Troy Ferguson (Team Kartnick) remains third in the standings, 159 points behind Wagner, while Biezonsky sits just 15 points behind Ferguson as he looks to break into the championship’s top three.

KA100 Senior – Stamps Returns to the Top Step, Leads Formula Works Podium Sweep

After a difficult round last time out that saw him drop to second in the championship, Johnie Stamps (Formula Works) mounted an impressive comeback, winning two Qualifying Heats on his way to pole position for the Final. Teammate Matthew Cagle (Formula Works) claimed the remaining Qualifying Heat victory, while Jonathan Portz (Neliton Race Concepts) captured the Super Heat win.

Stamps got a great launch off the line, leading Archer Eversman (Axis Kartsport) and Spencer Kempton (HRT Driver Development) through the opening corners. Eversman took the lead at Turn 1 to begin Lap 2, but Stamps reclaimed the position at the same corner on Lap 5.

Behind the leaders, Cagle moved past Kempton for third entering Turn 5 on Lap 7. Eversman regained the lead from Stamps at Turn 5 on Lap 9, but Stamps answered through the Chicane to retake the position. The battle between the front two allowed Cagle and Gavin McCune (Nash Motorsportz) to close the gap, with McCune moving into third.

McCune ran wide exiting Rocky Moran on Lap 15, dropping to fifth and promoting Eversman back onto the podium while Portz inherited fourth. With two laps remaining, Eversman moved past Cagle on the inside of Turn 5, and Portz followed him through the Esses, dropping Cagle to fourth.

Stamps built just enough of a gap out front to secure his first victory since the season opener. Behind him, Portz made an aggressive move to the inside of Eversman entering the final corner, forcing both drivers wide and allowing Cagle and Kameron Perry (Formula Works) to capitalize. Stamps led home a Formula Works 1-2-3, with Cagle finishing second and Perry third. Portz crossed the line fourth, while Eversman rounded out the top five.

Ayden Aquino (SJ Racing) finished sixth, Spencer Kempton (HRT Driver Development) seventh, Jackson Menchu (Calvo Driver Development) eighth, Gavin Nakagawa (Precision Works) ninth, and Greyson Shobert (Neliton Race Concepts) completed the top ten.

Eversman retains the championship lead after Round 7, but Stamps reduced the deficit from 52 points entering the weekend to just 18 with two rounds remaining. Cagle remains comfortably third in the standings, 104 points behind Stamps and 131 points ahead of Menchu in fourth.

KA100 Heritage: Albiani Dominates on Debut

A fresh face in KA100 Heritage, Dylan Albiani (Precision Works) enjoyed a dream Champions of the Future America debut. Albiani claimed two Qualifying Heat victories and the Super Heat win to secure pole position for the Final. Fellow newcomer Jeffrey Bays (Axis Kartsport) also impressed, capturing the remaining Qualifying Heat victory.

Albiani got a clean launch off the line, while Tony Gomez (Lakeside Karting) moved into second as Bays slipped from the front row to third. Bays reclaimed the runner-up position on Lap 4 with a pass into Turn 5, but Gomez fought back on Lap 11 to retake second. The battle continued over the closing laps before Bays reclaimed the position entering Rocky Moran on Lap 15.

While the battle for second raged behind him, Albiani was in a class of his own. He pulled away from the field to win by 9.5 seconds in a commanding debut performance. Bays finished second, while Gomez completed the podium. Andrei Isac (Tecnokart) came home fourth, followed by Marc Monaghan (Neliton Race Concepts) in fifth.

With Tony Gomez now at 360 points, twice as much as second-place Joshua Daley, it’s safe to say this is another title wrapped up with two to go. Andrei Isac meanwhile, sits only 18 points behind Daley, so there’s still more to fight for in this division.

X30 Pro: Karamseili Passes Keyes in Final Corner to Win!

Wrigley Keyes (Nash Motorsportz) returned to competition this weekend by winning two Qualifying Heats to secure pole position for the Final. Sergei Karamseili (MSRT Maxwell Motorsport), who clinched the championship last round, claimed the remaining Qualifying Heat victory. Ivanna Richards (HRI / 2B Racing) also returned for her second Champions of the Future America race weekend and captured the Super Heat win.

Keyes got a great launch at the start, while Richards dropped to fourth. Karamseili moved into second, with Tanner Cordon (PGR) running third.

Richards passed Cordon for third before the completion of the opening lap, then moved past Karamseili for second on Lap 2. She briefly took the lead from Keyes at Turn 1 on Lap 3 before Keyes reclaimed the position through Rocky Moran.

On Lap 8, Richards attempted a move for the lead into Turn 1 but ran too deep into the corner, allowing Keyes and Karamseili to move back ahead. With five laps remaining, Karamseili remained glued to the rear bumper of Keyes. Over the closing laps, the pair battled for the lead, allowing Richards to close back onto their rear bumpers.

Entering the final corner of the last lap, Karamseili moved to the inside of Keyes and emerged with the lead to claim victory. As Keyes raised his hand in frustration exiting the corner, Richards slipped past him at the line to finish second, leaving Keyes to complete the podium. Tanner Cordon (PGR) finished fourth.

Karamseili now holds a commanding 419-point lead over Cayden O’Connor (Axis Kartsport), while Erik Doan (West Coast Motorsports) sits in third place, just one point behind O’Connor in the championship standings.

Penultimate Round Next Month

The penultimate round of Champions of the Future America’s inaugural season takes place on August 29-30 back at K1 Circuit for the Pro Track with “D’s” layout. With close battles at the top for several of our classes, there’s still plenty to race for in these final two rounds. We can’t wait to see what’ll happen next!
