Silverstone has officially unveiled its brand new Kart circuit, as Formula 1 driver George Russell took to the track at a high profile launch event attended by leading names from across motorsport and karting, as well as some of Britain’s most popular influencers.

Bathed in warm spring sunshine, the Home of British Motorsport welcomed media, industry figures and special guests to celebrate the opening of one of the longest and most advanced outdoor karting circuits in Europe. With five different track configurations, Kart Silverstone will operate year-round, offering competitive race meetings alongside casual sessions for families and children aged six and above.

Marking the occasion, Russell completed the official opening lap of the 1,377-metre international-standard circuit, setting the pace for future visitors and signalling the start of an exciting new chapter for Silverstone’s visitor experiences.

The launch event was hosted by Sky Sports F1 commentator David Croft, with Radio 1 DJ Melvin Odoom providing the soundtrack for the evening, as guests took to the track and enjoyed freshly made sourdough pizzas from the terrace of Silverstone’s new Box Box Pizza restaurant.

“It also represents the BRDC’s largest investment at the circuit since the Wing was built. It’s a bold step that puts karting at the centre of Silverstone and helps inspire the next generation of racing talent.”

The experience extends beyond the track, with a rooftop viewing deck overlooking the circuit, alongside Box Box Pizza, a relaxed, year-round restaurant and bar open to everyone, serving freshly made pizzas and a wide selection of drinks.  Visitors can also stay nearby at Escapade Hotel & Restaurant, Silverstone’s premium trackside hotel, where The Gallery restaurant offers elevated dining with views across the Grand Prix circuit.

Kart Silverstone is now open to the public, offering visitors the chance to experience the thrill of racing at the Home of British Motorsport. Catering for ages six and above and all abilities, from first timers to experienced racers, there is something for everyone.

Kart Silverstone is a world-class, all-weather outdoor karting facility located at the Home of British Motorsport, open to the public year-round.

The circuit features five track configurations, including the Grand Prix Circuit — one of the longest outdoor karting tracks in Europe — offering a premium racing experience for both adults and children aged six and above.

Sessions are available from £30, catering to all abilities, from first-time drivers to experienced racers.

The facility has been designed with input from the British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) and is fully licensed to host FIA international karting events.
