Formula Works and GFC Set for Ambitious 2026 Schedule
SoCal GFC works team primed for successful season
If you’re talking powerhouse teams in Southern California, you’d likely start with Formula Works. Led by Team Principal Anthony Siragusa, the operation has been winning races and championships in the ultra-competitive region since 2014 and they’re primarily responsible for the slew of black and white GFC karts you’d see at any club, regional, and national event. Formula Works is the official GFC Karting team in the region and Siragusa has developed a winning program staffed by experienced people.
The team is preparing for an ambitious 2026 season with 38 races on the calendar. Formula Works will be competing in the full Superkarts! USA ProKart Challenge along with select Tri-C events, and will also support the new Champions of the Future America Series races at K1 Circuit and Spring Mountain Karting Complex. While they’re fully rooted in SoCal, the team’s reach extends nationally through their GFC partnerships. Siragusa told EKN that the team will join Norberg Karting Academy on the east coast for select United States Pro Kart Series and SKUSA Winter Series races and will also collaborate with Scuderia Littel at Challenge of the Americas events. For the sport’s additional national events, they’ll join the GFC Factory Team for the SKUSA Pro Tour, ROK Vegas, and the SKUSA SuperNationals.

Formula Works has enjoy strong success at the ProKart Challenge, including two straight championships for Keagan Kaminski
With Siragusa at the helm, the team is managed by Kyle Babida and Jake Drew. Babida is the team and shop manager, while Drew pairs his driving duties with product testing and driver development for all of Formula Works customers. This trio is supported by a roster of elite mechanics, the GFC network, and the team’s dedicated staff.
While Formula Works officially launched in 2014, their roots go back to 2013 when they competed as ‘Team FreeM’. At the time, Siragusa was leveraging over 20 years of international logistics experience to assist the FreeM importer. When the Los Angeles Kart Club (LAKC) required them to establish a formal team name for their championship, the foundation was laid.
Tony’s journey into the heart of the sport began in 2009. While racing with his son, he became a dedicated student of karting dynamics. He invested his effort into understanding the ‘why’ behind kart design and performance, but more importantly, he focused on the fundamentals. As his son’s performance improved, other drivers began seeking their help. Regardless of the chassis, they applied the same fundamental coaching techniques. The results were undeniable: drivers excelled not by constantly changing parts, but by mastering the basics.
“As the team grew, we needed a more efficient way to manage driver coaching and data review,” Siragusa told EKN. “I developed a streamlined system for video and data analysis that allowed us to maximize our time between sessions. It worked. Our drivers began dominating, and we captured the LAKC Team Championship that year and the two years following. Because we had discovered a ‘formula’ that truly worked, the name was born…Formula Works.”
“Eleven years later, those same principles remain as our North Star,” Tony continued. “We have been a proud partner of GFC since late 2019, following a successful tenure as a CompKart dealer. GFC provides our customers with a world-class, competitive product that allows our coaching methods to shine. We pride ourselves on offering something special—choosing a path of innovation and specialized coaching rather than just following the masses.”

Formula Works has been able to travel east and earn success, including a 1-2 finish at the USPKS Wisconsin Grand Prix
“Formula Works has been a cornerstone in the growth of the GFC brand,” offered Gary Carlton, GFC CEO. “For five consecutive years, they have been our leading dealer, delivering consistent performance both commercially and competitively. What sets Formula Works apart is that they understand both sides of this sport. They know how to win races and run a business. Their success on track – through race wins and championships – has played a significant role in establishing GFC’s reputation at the highest levels of karting. Beyond results, Formula Works has helped shape a strong, collaborative dealer network and a professional nationwide arrive-and-drive program spanning all GFC dealers. By aligning disciplined business execution with GFC’s technical development, they have been instrumental in positioning the GFC brand on a global stage.”
Team Formula Works remains committed to driver development at every level, from beginner to Pro. They believe every driver must master the fundamentals to succeed. Their mission is to provide their drivers with the tools, data, and mentorship they need to run at the front of the pack and compete for wins. If the success of the past years is any indication, Formula Works and their customers are in for a big season in 2026.
