The application process to select the Junior driver to represent the United States of America at the 2026 FIA Karting Academy Trophy program was opened last week. Speaking with ACCUS (Automobile Competition for the United States), multiple drivers have submitted their information in hopes of representing the USA at the international karting championship. At the same time, the driver originally selected to compete in the Senior championship has withdrawn, opening the position for a new driver to represent the USA.

The Senior category is for drivers 14 years old to 17 years old (Born in 2012, 2011, 2010 or 2009). Drivers must be in this age range at the time of the events: May to October 2026. The Junior category is for drivers 12 years old to 14 years old and the application process continues to remain open as well.

The USA nominees are responsible for all expenses incurred traveling to/from the event and at the event. Applications must be submitted in full by January 23, 2026. Complete details surrounding the structure, restrictions, and driver criteria will be shared once received from the FIA. Driver selected must be committed to all three events of the FIA Academy Trophy program.
