It was a great day! I got stuck in a pack during qualifying and couldn’t set a great lap. I was able to make my way up from third to first in the opening heat to begin the racing action!

“I was stressed out in the morning because I was off pace during practice. Qualifying was not great either. I made some bad mistakes, fell out of draft and then I started driving worse. In the first heat, I was a bit faster but still off pace, however I was able to get around a bunch of people. In the second heat, I got a pep talk right before and it gave me some speed. But then I got a three-second bumper penalty. Overall, I’m pretty happy with today.”

“Today wasn’t one of the best days but it was definitely a great experience. I had my first taste of European racing. Heat 1 we couldn’t start because of a faulty carburetor. Thanks to Jorge Ortiz to be able to get the issue resolved and giving me a rocket ship for Heat 2. Heading into that race I had my head up and we gained 12 or more spots in four laps but then we got into a racing incident that caused me to retire. I am grateful to be representing my country and we have the pace, we just need a little more luck for tomorrow and we can for sure have great results. I want to thank my parents, sister, and my friends for supporting me and hoping to get it done the rest of the weekend.”

“The unfortunate part of spec racing, sometimes the engine just doesn’t go. We were stuck with a bad motor, that no matter what we did it was no good. After we begged to get a different motor, it took till after the first heat, I picked up four tenths and went purple in the last heat on the day. We will have pace hopefully moving forward.”
