Drivers from around the world, including California, Mexico, Washington, Missouri, Illinois, Florida, Dominican Republic and the United Kingdom, will compete in the Launch Day event at Sonoma Raceway Karting Center in Sonoma, Calif.
The event will feature five exclusive test sessions and competitive feature races for Juniors (age 12-14) and Seniors/Masters (age 15+).
Launch Day is designed to give drivers a sneak peek of what’s to come for the Rotax Racing Club California Championship Series, which begins in September.
At press time, only Test Session 1 and Test Session 5 have limited spots available—the rest are sold out. The Seniors/Masters feature race is sold out, but limited availability remains for the Juniors feature race.
American karting legend Bobby Wilson will coach the 30-minute test sessions so drivers can familiarize themselves with the karts, featuring identically prepared Birel ART chassis powered by the ROTAX 125 EVO engine.
Philip Pegler, founder and CEO of Formula KFX said the association with BRP-Rotax came at the perfect time.
“I have been looking for a partner who shares my vision of providing affordable and competitive opportunities to the grassroots racer, allowing them to have access to a professionally run platform on which to exhibit their skills and forge a career pathway onto the world stage.”
Formula KFX will be awarding the Junior with the fastest lap time a free entry into their 2025 Championship Series.
Drivers who want to participate in Launch Day can register at formulakfx.com.
