It was a memorable day on Saturday at the 2025 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour SummerNationals from the New Castle Motorsports Park. The humidity was among the worst it has been in the 11 straight years the event has been held at the New Castle, Indiana facility. Racing began with two red flags, a heavy rain shower rolled through as the Prefinals wrapped up, and the championships were more defined heading into the final day of action on Sunday. One of the eight titles was wrapped up early with a win on Saturday for PSL Karting’s Diego Ramos in KA100 Senior while Austin Garrison of Speed Concepts Racing secured his second victory of 2025 to close the gap in the Pro X30 championship heading into the final day of action.

The day began in the Pro X30 presented by Kart CRG USA with Diego Ramos (PSL / Birelart) setting fast time in qualifying with 1:07.989 lap to edge out championship contenders Austin Garrison (SCR / CS55) and Ryan Norberg (RPG / Kosmic). The title chase hit a crucial point at the wave of the green flag for the Prefinal as Garrison and Norberg made contact through turn one, sending Norberg off with a DNF after broken front end. Garrison fell back to 19th but continued on with a bent rear axle. A rain shower rolled in by the halfway point, putting the Pro drivers to the challenge with dry tires and very wet track. Canadian Ayden Ingratta (SCR / CS55) shined through the rain until a mistake on the final lap where Blake Nash (Nash / EOS) took over for the race win. Garrison worked up to 11th while Norberg watched from the sidelines.

With a mixed up grid following the rain soaked Prefinal, Nash jumped out to the lead in the 15 lap main event while Chase Hand (GFC Karting) and Jake Drew (FW / GFC) moved up to second and third. They were quickly joined by Garrison, who was on the charge early. He was fourth by lap three and around both GFC drivers by lap six. It took only two laps to close up on Nash, taking the lead by the halfway point. Garrison established a comfortable gap, but Nash kept it close the rest of the distance, including posting fast lap of the race to steal 10 points from Garrison. At the flag, Garrison secured his second victory on the season to take over the championship lead by 80 points. Norberg, who drove up to 12th from the tail of the 35-driver field, leads when factory in the drop by 36 points, leaving more work to be done by Garrison. Nash recorded his best finish of the season with the runner-up result as Ramos fought back from going off in the Prefinal to land on the podium in third. He held off Pauly Massimino (BJR / LN Racing Kart) as Hand dropped to fifth.

Pro Shifter presented by PSL Karting did not see any major changes in the championship chase after qualifying and the two heat races. Kyle Wick (GFC Karting) and Adrian Renaudin (Velocity / Sodi Kart) led the way in the opening qualifying sessions but it was Corentin Rousseau (Catalyst / Italkart) that led the way through the Super Pole session. Nine-time SummerNationals winner AJ Myers (Magik Kart USA) was sixth, and worked his way to the win in the opening heat race while defending series champion Matheus Morgatto (PSL / Birelart) was a DNF after contact with Andrew Bujdoso (Magik Kart USA). Morgatto responded in Heat #2, muscling his way to the front and the win after Rousseau recorded a DNF with an engine issue. At the same time, Renaudin was receiving a black flag for a ‘Euro Swerve’. Myers was second, landing him the pole position for the Prefinal on Sunday with Danny Formal (GFC Karting) on the outside of the front row with finishes of fourth and third. Bujdoso starts third with championship contender Josh Conquer (Maranello USA) on the outside of row two. Point leader Jay Urwin (PSL / Birelart) starts fifth while Wick goes for P6. Billy Musgrave (Factory Karts) was 11th and seventh in the heats to go from P8, Morgatto P12, and WinterNationals winner Gavin Bayliff (TKG / Birelart) P11.

Ramos (PSL / Birelart) completed the sweep on the day in the KA100 Senior presented by Nash Motorsportz to secure the SKUSA Pro Tour championship one round early. A lap of 1:11.406 secured the pole position by 11 thousandths over Eli Warren (HDD / Tony Kart). It was a wire-to-wire win in the Prefinal before going green-to-checkered flag in the 15-lap main event. Collin Lloyd (Velocity / Sodi Kart) closed in late, but did not have enough to challenge Ramos for the top spot, settling for runner-up in his class debut for 2025. SpringNationals winner Pauly Massimino (BJR / LN Racing Kart) drove to third for a third straight podium finish. Warren was quickest on the track finishing fourth with Donovan Bonilla (RPG / Kosmic) completing the top-five.

Ashton Woon (SCR / CS55) celebrated his first victory in X30 Junior presented by Rolison Performance Group. Max Weiland (Magik Kart USA) was the driver to beat throughout the day, setting fast time in qualifying an leading a four-driver group in the Prefinal for the win. The same quartet broke away in the Final, led by Woon including Luca Popescu (RPG / Kosmic) and Sarah Bradley (SCR / Sodi Kart). Woon led the first five laps before Weiland returned to the point. It last only three laps and Woon reclaimed the top position on lap nine. At the same time, Popescu and Bradley challenge Weiland for the second spot but failed. This gave Woon a good gap over the remaining six laps. Weiland closed up late, but not enough as Woon celebrated his first win in his rookie season by over a half second. Weiland was second with Popescu enjoying his first podium in the category, holding off Bradley at the line. Round Four winner Travis Pettit (SCR / CS55) drove up to fifth from eight. Championship leader fought through nearly the entire 45-driver field on the day. He was a DQ in qualifying for not having a double-nut on a weight, putting him at the tail of the field for the Prefinal. Vanchev worked up to 18th in the 8-lap Prefinal while climbing to eighth in the Final. Vanchev still has enough points to hold the lead in the standings by 65 points over Woon heading into the finale with the gap increasing to 111 when factoring in the drop race.

Vanchev (RPG / Kosmic) was able to land his third victory on the season in the KA100 Junior presented by TKG Birelart USA division. Vanchev was 21st in qualifying as Jackson Gibson (RPM / Tony Kart) was quickest in the session, edging out Round Four winner Travis Pettit (SCR / CS55) and Nico Kotowski (TKG / Birelart) by 70 thousandths. The Prefinal opened up with a red flag as Nathan Dupuis (Nash / EOS) flipped backwards out of the kart in a wreck that was toward the front of the field. The race was restarted and Nathan Golseth (RPM / Tony Kart) came away with the win over Isaac Malcuit (MDR / LN Racing Kart) and Pettit. Rain his during the Pro X30 Prefinal just before their main event, scrambling everyone to rain tires and set up. Kotowski was able to get up to the front on the opening lap while Vanchev, who was seventh in the Prefinal, moved to second over the first circuit. Vanchev was up to the lead by the second lap and from there, drove away to a 8-second advantage. Kotowski ran alone in second for his first podium in the category while Pettit drove to third for a second straight podium trip. Luca Popescu (RPG / Kosmic) was fourth with Gibson ending up fifth. Dupuis started last in the 48-driver field and was able to climb his way up to 13th in the wet. Heading into the final round on Sunday still mathematically able to steal the title way with a perfect score and Vanchev to record his worst finish of the season.

The first sweep of the season came in the Master Shifter presented by Rocket Racing Company, completed by Jordon Musser (PSL / Birelart). The five-time SKUSA Pro Tour champion made his first start on the season, setting fast time in qualifying with a 1:06.710 lap. He was beat in the holeshot for the Prefinal by championship leader Scott Presti (Presti / Croc Promotion) but Musser claimed the lead on lap two. Presti fell back to third with Tim Hollowell (RS Kart) finishing second to Musser. At the wave of the green flag, Musser suffered another terrible start, dropping to fourth with Hollowell and Scott Hargrove (Catalyst / Italkart) moving to first and second. Musser jumped to second by lap two and took two more laps before reclaiming the top spot from Hollowell. In the first half, Hollowell kept it close but through the second half of the race, Musser pulled away. At the line, Musser claimed the victory by 1.2 seconds, earning his fourth career win at the SummerNationals. Hollowell ran second with John Crow (Factory Karts) coming up to steal the third spot away from Hargrove. Presti was there until he retired on lap 12 with a broke rear sprocket. That moved Scott Barnes (Maranello) to the fifth spot. The DNF hurt Presti’s chances at the title as Hargrove enters the finale leading by 71 points over Barnes with Presti back by 143.

The fight in Mini Swift presented by Speed Concepts Racing was a two driver battle. Enzo DiGennaro and Maxwell Macha of Parolin Motorsports USA worked their way to the front from the Prefinal into the main event. They jumped out to the lead early in the Final to establish a solid lead over the second pair of drivers – Liam Nachawati (JHDD / Kart Republic) and Aston Wyatt (RPM / Nitro Kart). After Macha led the first couple of laps, DiGennaro took over on lap three. From there, the two ran nose to tail the entire distance as Macha helped push DiGennaro to his second win of the season. Nachawati was able to beat out Wyatt for the third spot with two-time race winner Wynn Godschalk (Team Benik) coming up from 15th to slip past for the fourth spot as well on the final lap. Wyatt however left tech early, and was removed from the results. That promoted Prefinal winner Lawrence Peremen (BJR / LN Racing Kart) to fifth with top qualifier Santiago Orioli (MPG / Kart Republic) placing seventh behind championship leader Jayden Francisco (RPM / Nitro Kart). Francisco advanced from 31st to inside the top-10 in the Final, earning fast lap of the race, after getting put off in the Prefinal. DiGennaro moved to the top of the championship standings over Francisco, separated by 69 points with Godschalk still in the hunt as well heading into Sunday.

Micro Swift presented by Velocity Racing by Sodi USA welcomed another first time winner on Saturday. Zev Godschalk (Team Benik) set fast time in qualifying while it was Leo Simone (JHDD / Kart Republic) to come away with the win in the Prefinal. The main event began a bit crazy as the drivers were on dry tires with a drying track, making the first few laps a bit of a tip toe around NCMP circuit. Simone went off on the opening circuit while Liam Francisco (RPM / Nitro Kart) and championship leader Dutch Westbrook (Team Benik) also went off. Round One winner Lenox Lockhart (Velocity / Sodi Kart) and Brody Stoffle (JHDD / Kart Republic) locked up and were able to break away from the field. Lockhart led until lap eight when Stoffle took control. They ran nose to tail the entire distance until lap traffic gave Stoffle some breathing room. Stoffle went on to claim his first SKUSA victory by over two seconds. Lockhart settled for second with Godschalk recording fast lap of the race in third. Hudson Howard (JHDD / Kart Republic) drove up to fourth with Mason Brody (JHDD / Kart Republic) placing fifth. Stoffle takes over the championship lead by 41 points over Westbrook with Lockhart back by 75. Factoring in the drop race, Westbrook leads over Lockhart and Stoffle with Godschalk and Aidan Go (Parolin Motorsport USA) still in the hunt, setting up for an exciting final round.

The final day of action for the 2025 Superkarts! USA Pro Tour SummerNationals takes place on Sunday, serving as the final laps of the season to decide the championships for the 16th year of the program.
