The Precision Half Tooth Rear Sprocket allows karters to make a gear ratio change by 1/2 a tooth, either in the positive or negative direction. Made of high strength 7075 T6 Aluminum, these one piece sprockets are made for 219 chain pitch. There are 12 sprockets sizes available from 70.5 up to 80.5.

You may be asking, ‘Why do I need an adjustment for a half tooth?’

Say you are running 10/75, which is 7.5 ratio. After reviewing your data, you want the ratio to be 7.45. That would require a change to 11/82 gearing based on the math. With the new Precision Half Tooth Rear Sprocket, you can run the 10/74.5 to lower the ratio to the 7.45 that you want without changing the front sprocket.

Another question many have been asking is “How is this possible and does it really have a half tooth?’

To answer the last question first, no it doesn’t really have a “half tooth”. But the combination of the sprocket’s overall diameter falling in between full sprocket sizes, the roll out and the unique tooth shape are what makes the ratio 1/2 tooth different.
