2nd Annual Go Kart Hall of Fame Induction and Gala Celebration
Legends of go-kart racing will take center stage on Friday, May 9, 2025, during the 2nd Annual Go Kart Hall of Fame Induction and Gala Celebration, held at the Sacramento Marriott Rancho Cordova. This highly anticipated event will bring together celebrated drivers, tuners, media figures, and karting enthusiasts from across the country to honor the rich history and enduring legacy of the sport.
The evening begins with a meet-and-greet at 5:00 PM, followed by a plated dinner at 6:30 PM, and culminates with awards and Hall of Fame presentations starting at 7:00 PM. Attendees will enjoy personal stories, tributes, and live interviews with some of the most iconic names in karting.
Over 40 new members will be inducted this year, representing the best in Sprint, Speedway, Dirt, and Road Racing. Notable honorees include Randy Kugler, Doug Fleming, Steve O’Hare, Jim Reed, Rob Howden, Jilene Chivell, Howard Combee, Dick Conners, Ray Bobo, and Dave & Earl Larson, among many others.
“The Hall of Fame is all about celebrating the pioneers, legends, and behind-the-scenes contributors who shaped our sport,” said Tim Meyer, founder of the Go Kart Hall of Fame. “It’s also about community—bringing racers together who may not have connected in years and reliving the unforgettable moments that defined their racing careers.”
The event’s relaxed and welcoming atmosphere creates a one-of-a-kind “bench racing” experience, filled with laughter, friendship, and admiration. For many, it’s the only time each year to reconnect with old rivals and lifelong friends from every corner of the karting world.
