Jay Howard Driver Development Re-Launches Karting Program for Up-and-Coming Drivers
A championship-winning program in the USF Pro Championships Presented by Continental Tire, Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) is relaunching its potent karting team. Set to compete at all major series, including the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) Pro Tour and Winter Series, World Karting Association (WKA), United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS), Stars Championship Series, and Rotax Max Challenge, the JHDD Karting effort will commence during the annual WKA KartKeek in Daytona Beach, Florida.
“I have had several people ask about where our karting program has gone, and it got me thinking that I really need to provide a platform for the future racers,” explained Jay Howard, former NTT INDYCAR SERIES competitor who started his career in karting. “I have hired talented people to run the operations, and we will run Kart Republic products exclusively, which means we will support all KR brands, including Kart Republic, Fernando Alonso Kart, and DAP.”
Not to enter a new program lightly, JHDD has already assembled a deep list of talented competitors for 2025 aboard the potent KR brand from Micro to Shifter.
Howard continued, “I love watching the young talent at the karting level and helping them transition to cars. Now, we can take our program to a new level and do this internally, coaching the kids at a young age and starting the development to becoming an INDYCAR driver earlier than ever before. Having the chance to work with the drivers at a karting level allows us to begin building the relationship and keep that continuity as they move up into cars with our team.”
Not only will JHDD Karting provide a premier race program for today’s top karters and up-and-coming drivers, but it will also offer a training program for USF Pro competitors to keep sharp in between events.
