As a fun addition to their upcoming race at Road America and the Briggs & Stratton Motorplex on August 23-25, Route 66 Sprint Series owner Chris Kardashian is offering up a bounty to anyone who can come in and dethrone the current king of their KA100 Masters category, Adam Crepin. The 37 year-old has won every KA100 race since he moved up to Masters from Senior in 2023 and is the defending class champion. Throughout the season, the Route 66 Sprint Series has been living up to their tagline – Great Racing, Great Tracks, and Great Family Fun –with the exciting on-track action being accompanied by a menu of end-of-day activities like a BBQ, cornhole tournaments, and the program’s now famous ‘Fun Zone’ for the kids. This new bounty offering has people talking, and it’s very clear that the Route 66 Sprint Series is dedicated to supporting Masters racing.

“The KA Masters class is an important class to me personally and to the Route 66 Sprint Series,” offered Kardashian. “As we continue to promote our philosophy of racing at great tracks, with great racers, and fun for the entire family, it is important that we have a place for people of all ages to race so that the entire family can participate in the weekend activities, whether it is on-track racing or off-track activities. Adam, along with his wife, father, and mother are long-time racers and workers within the series and the series has no better friend than the Crepins. But as the old cliché goes, it is time for a change at the top of the podium, so we have instituted a bounty on Adam to generate some excitement for everyone. Maybe it is a gentleman’s wager between other racers on who may unseat Adam at Road America? Or if Adam remains on the top step at RA, we will have a carry over on the bounty to Mill-Rite Raceway in Dousman, WI for the season finale. Who is capable of beating Adam? I challenge all the Masters racers in KA100 to join in on the fun. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and I’m excited for the weekend as there will be action on the kart track from Kid Karts to Masters (2-cycle and 4-cycle) and on the big track as well with an SCCA event.”

The bounty will play out like this. The series will pay $250 in cash and provide a new set of MG SH2 tires to anyone who knocks Adam off the top spot on the podium at Road America. If no one rises to the occasion in Elkhart Lake, Kardashian will carry over the cash award and double it to $500 at their Mill-Rite Raceway event in Dousman, WI on September 20-22. If Adam does not finish the event at Road America due to avoidable contact, the awards will not be paid, so clean driving is expected and required. A minimum of 12 drivers must race in KA100 Masters class for awards to be given. The category has drawn a dozen drivers so far in 2024 and this new bounty should fuel interest to present the biggest grid of the season.

“The Route 66 sprint series is really a great place to come race,” Crepin told EKN. “Chris has done a great job creating a relaxed atmosphere with fun on and off the track all weekend. Both Chris and Kevin Kullman have been putting in a lot of effort to grow the Masters class and hopefully the bounty will attract some more drivers looking for competitive, clean racing. And hopefully I can stay on top so I can make David (Cole) regret not putting me on his EKN All-Star team.”
