Vidmontiene Marks Debut with MottazSport / BN Engines with Top-Five Result
Fifth-place finish at USPKS Heartland Grand Prix in New Castle in opening weekend with new team and Kart Republic chassis

The 2022 United States Pro Kart Series finale was the debut for Enzo Vidmontiene with MottazSport and BN Engines in the X30 Junior category. The Junior rookie announced the move to the Palmetto, Florida based operation prior to the September 15-18 event at the New Castle Motorsports Park, including the move to the Kart Republic chassis. His new home will include the remainder of the 2022 season along with the entire 2023 schedule. The opening results for Vidmontiene and MottazSport was a solid one, earning at top-five result at the New Castle, Indiana facility.
Vidmontiene used the opening two days of practice to grow acclimated to the Kart Republic chassis, and the inner workings of the MottazSport operation. The combination was quick to end the practice schedule, ending up fourth in the happy hour session.
“I felt good during the session,” stated Vidmontiene. “Because of the track layout, it is all about what position you are in to get the right draft and be among the quickest in the session. I felt confident going into Saturday as we were proving the equipment was working well, and I had a good understanding of track and positioning. I knew it would be a fight however for the rest of the weekend once we began racing.”

Round Seven made up the schedule on Saturday with Qualifying, Prefinal and Final on the docket for Vidmontiene. Enzo set the eighth quickest time in the timed session, holding the position through the 12-lap Prefinal to start the main event from outside Row Four. Vidmontiene ran as high as fifth before contact dropped him down the order. The final classifications had Enzo placing 16th.
“I was pushed off the track late in the race,” added Vidmontiene. “The driver was penalized and apologized. It’s part of racing and today it did not work out in my favor. There is still Sunday, and I was excited for another round of racing, especially because we know we had more speed in the kart.”
Sunday hosted Round Eight with the results on the positive side for Vidmontiene. Qualifying saw Enzo post the third quickest time of the green-white-checkered session to put him inside Row Two for the Prefinal. The 12-lap race was his best performance of the weekend, as Vidmontiene posted the quickest lap in his drive up to the second position to start the Final from the outside of the front row. The main event was a battle for the entire 18 laps for the runner-up position. Vidmontiene was in contention, however, came up short of the podium by finishing fourth – his best result of the 2022 USPKS season.
“The racing did not go as I hoped, however, we were able to improve our pace and post a season best result. In the end, I feel like the results were very positive on the weekend with the new team and new chassis. I loved the way of MottazSport work as they were always talking to me, getting feedback, working on the chassis, explaining technically what was supposed to expect from each change and teaching me what to do in case of some situations that could happen again. I loved the Kart Republic as I think it fits better on my driving style.”
Vidmontiene and the MottazSport / BN Engines combination is set to compete at the IAME USA Grand National Championship event at the GoPro Motorplex on October 13-16 in Mooresville, North Carolina. They will then travel to Las Vegas on November 16-20 for the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals 25 outside the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. The final event of the 2022 season will be the series finale for the Sunshine State Karting Championship at the AMR Homestead-Miami Motorplex presented by MG Tires on December 16-18.
