Race Report: 2026 Texas Sprint Racing Series – Fall Finale
Speedsportz Racing Park welcomes multiple first time winners to close out season
The Texas Sprint Racing Series visited the place where the 2026 season began, returning to the Speedsportz Racing Park for the Fall Finale. The New Caney, Texas facility welcomed the International Kart Federation and Superkarts! USA competitors over the September 25-27, hosting the fifth and final round of the championship chase. Different from the opening weekend back in March is the direction of the 8/10-mile course, going in the counter-clockwise direction.
The headline KA100 Senior presented by Kart CRG USA began with Round Two winner Landon Skinner securing the fast time in qualifying with a lap of 54.830 to clear the 25-driver field by nearly two tenths. Second in the order was former series champion Peyton Phillips, who went on to win the opening two heat races before Santiago Duran came away with the top spot in the third heat race. Phillips and Skinner swapped spots on the front row to lead the field to the green flag for the 18-lap Final. Phillips led the opening two laps before Skinner took over the point. He led until lap 11 when Duran put on the challenge. The two drivers exchanged the lead for multiple laps until Skinner secured the position on lap 14. From there, Skinner led the remainder of the race, holding off Duran to record his second victory of the season. Duran was removed from the results following tech, promoting Rodrigo Polaya for a career best runner-up result. Phillips was third with John Burke fourth and Justin Music completing the top five.

Going into the weekend, Nicolas Orbezo was the only driver to win twice on the season in KA100 Junior presented by P1 Engines. He found himself in the fifth spot in qualifying after Round Three winner Easton Cox set the mark in qualifying with a 55.749 lap to edge out Alex Chandler and Clayton Stiles. Mason Barry however came away from a race-long battle for the win in the opening heat race. Orbezo suffered a poor finish in the opening heat but bounced back in Heat Two to win. He duplicated the performance in the final heat to earn a sixth place starting spot as Cox and Stiles started from the front row. It took Orbezo just seven laps to move up through the front five and into the lead. Cox, Round One winner Nathan Golseth, and Aston Wyatt all led at one point before Orbezo took over the top spot. Once in the lead, Orbezo showed the way to the checkered flag, securing his third victory of 2026. Easton crossed the line in second, however, a five-second penalty for incident responsibility dropped him out of the top five. This promoted Golseth to the second position ahead of Alex Chandler with Wyatt and Barry completing the top five.
